My Homework

Last night while my kids were finishing some of their homework I was doing mine. We have been finishing up our Election lapbook and will be done tonight. We have two pages left. Quotes of past presidents and our map page. They will be watching the Election and coloring their map red or blue to show which party won the electorates. They will also write in the number of votes as they come in. (I will post pictures of our complete book)As far as quotes from past presidents here's a few I thought were cool.

"It is impossible to rightly govern a nation without God and the Bible."-George Washington

"The Bible is the rock on which Republic rests."-Andrew Jackson

"I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, and that His justice cannot sleep forever."-Thomas Jefferson

"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."-John Adams

"We should live our lives as though Christ were coming this afternoon."-Jimmy Carter

"We are never defeated unless we give up on God."-Ronald Reagan

"I've noticed that everybody that is for abortion has already been born." -Ronald Reagan

While doing my homework this is what I learned...
Did you know?
On Church and State:
So many Americans have heard the phrase that they think it is one actually written right into the Constitution of the United States. But, if you study it and look into it you will realize it is not. In fact, if you look into the subject you will find that it wasn't mentioned in any law, or even in the halls of Congress.

Planned Parenthood:
Margaret Sanger the founder of the largest abortion provider(Planned Parenthood) in the world. Here are some of her quotes. (Beware, they make me want to throw up.)
"The most merciful thing that a large family does to one of its infant members is to kill it."
Margaret Sanger

On blacks, immigrants and indigents:
"...human weeds,' 'reckless breeders,' 'spawning... human beings who never should have been born." Margaret Sanger

On the extermination of blacks:
"We do not want word to go out that we want to exterminate the Negro population,"

On adultery:
A woman's physical satisfaction was more important than any marriage vow, Sanger believed. Birth Control in America, p. 11

On the rights of the handicapped and mentally ill, and racial minorities:
"More children from the fit, less from the unfit -- that is the chief aim of birth control." Birth Control Review, May 1919, p. 12

On sterilization & racial purification:
Sanger believed that, for the purpose of racial "purification," couples should be rewarded who chose sterilization. Birth Control in America, The Career of Margaret Sanger, by David Kennedy, p. 117, quoting a 1923 Sanger speech.

Margaret Sanger's main goal in life was to promote birth control.

she helped to establish the research bureau that financed "the pill," she also contributed toward the work of the German doctor who developed the IUD. "Ernst Graefenberg and His Ring,"
What makes me sick is Planned Parenthood is still around killing millions of babies today.
I know I am getting into some touchy issues.
I found this website. http://www.prolife.com/BIRTHCNT.html
What do you think?
Did Sanger know what she was doing? Does birth control abort?
I'd like to hear your comments...

Have a good day, I'm off to vote!
"Always vote for principal, though you may vote alone."-John Quincy Adams

I only recently learned of Margaret Sanger's beliefs while watching my new favorite movie Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed. It is an amazing movie about how scientists who believe in Intelligent Design are being discriminated against & fired from their jobs.

There is a portion that deals with how Hitler was a fanatical Darwinist who believed that he was helping move evolution forward by exterminating millions of Jews, gypsies, homosexuals and the mentally retarded. Likewise, Margaret Sanger believed that people of inferior stock (ie: the handicapped & mentally retarded) should be sterilized to help with "Natural Selection", the core belief of Darwinism.

It sickens me to think that people hold that woman in such a high regard when they should really do their homework (like Bridget) and learn what her real motives were.

PS - To my friends & family: You are getting a copy of that movie for Christmas from us!

We are doing about the same thing tonight. Each of my boys has a state book that gets colored as well as a tally sheet for the electoral votes.
We are doing an all out Family First Election Party too...we are having Maverick Meatballs, Red WHite and Blue American Apple Pie, Blue pasta with Red Sauce, Alaskan Moose Munch (homemade caramel/choc popcorn)
I am praying for Prop 8 in Cali and for your family as you partake in American History...at home.

I just found your blog and after reading this post I had to comment. I loved the quotes from former Presidents, but Margaret Sanger is nothing more than a sick individual. I say this as a pro-choice individual mind you, but I do not under any circumstances believe in natural selection and genocide and I feel that's where a lot of her motives come from. Thank you for a little education tonight!!
