It's A Lifestyle Of Loving God

Besides doing the 7X7 prayers for my kids I am trying to teach my children how important prayer is. Being a wife and mother trying to juggle everything I often find myself lucky if I pray before meals. I love to spend time in prayer and want my children to too. We have come up with some ways to help us. When Austin was not even a year old we lived in a little house on a busy street. Firetrucks and Ambulance would drive by several times a day. I taught him at a young age to pray. Every time we heard the sirens we would stop what we were doing and pray for them and the people they were going to attend. Now, all my kids pray whenever they hear a siren when we are driving. They don't even think twice, they all bow their heads no matter what is going on and start praying. Here are some other ways that help us to pray continually. I know this will help my children with their relationship with God. It is an attitude of the heart and a lifestyle of loving God.

Post it prayers: On the computer, fridge, dashboard or wherever to help remind you to pray for family and friends. We so often say, "I will pray for you." But do we remember? This helps us!

Going Up..we like to do this in elevators. Everyone seems to be awkward in an elevator. Either they stare at the floor or the door. We stare at everyone's shoes and ask God to direct each step, lead each person into truth and open and shut doors for each occupant according to His will.

Hit the Road.. every time we pass an accident, abandoned car or someone detained by the police we pray for them. We also pray when stuck behind a school bus. Pray for the schools the students and teachers.

Sort Laundry...As I fold clothes I like to think of each family member and pray for them thanking God for them. If I am folding Landen's shirt I will pray for him and thank God for what I appreciate about him etc...

Three Rings... This one's hard but we try. Before answering the phone we wait three rings and pray for God to guard our tongues and guide our thoughts and glorify His name through us.

Great ideas and reminders! I'm a baby Christian and often times think that prayer needs to be more "formal," and it doesn't. I love these ideas.

Those are some great "triggers". One of mine, is to pray for our country and leaders every time I see the American Flag.

Those are fantastic ideas! Being a busy mom myself, I also need visual reminders.

You're an amazing mom, wife, and child of God! I feel like I know you just through your blog. Thanks for sharing your life with so many and allowing us to be blessed. If you and your family ever make a trip to Orlando, FL to see the mouse, you have a place to stay:) I have four kids the same age as yours (our last 2 are 10 months apart and that's probably why I love reading your blog).

These are some great suggestions. Prayer seems to always be the first thing to go when things get really hectic, and this is a great way to make sure it remains a part of life. Thanks for posting!
