YES ON 8...BUT WHY?

So many people are confused about this very important proposition. Are you sure that you really understand the implications of this proposition and the changes it will bring? Maybe you disagree with a YES vote of Prop 8? But, why?

I'm a CHRISTIAN and I'm voting NO on 8.

Why?

Because it seems that all the funding has come from false Christian groups like ROMAN CATHOLICS and "MORMONS" both of whom are idolaters (worshiping Men, Mary, beads, little statues of saints, etc).

IDOLATRY is a worse sin. Voting yes on 8 supports idolatry.

Reuven, First of all there is no "worse" sin. sin is sin...I'm a sinner your a sinner were all sinners. I would research a little bit more before making that statement. check out the website I posted. Thanks for visiting.

I respect everyone's opinions, but I'm personally voting No of Prop 8.

The bottom line comes down to the fact that it intends to take away human rights. Does it increase our taxes? No. Does it directly affect people who are heterosexual? No. Also, I find the commercials supporting Prop 8 to be wildly misleading, with the implications that 2nd graders will be taught about same-sex marriage. I don't know about private schools, but children in public schools are never taught about marriage. That is something they learn within their home and family.

I think it's sad that people find homosexuals to be a "threat" to marriage. Yes, they are different and considered by some to be sinners, but I find the idea that they threaten the sanctity of marriage total bologna. We live in a country where people can marry complete strangers on national television, only to turn around and have it annulled, yet two life long partners of 30+ years can raise children together, have a home together, and be accused of being a "threat" towards marriage. I can't support a law that intends to strip people of rights. That goes against equality for all human beings.

Just my two cents, please don't be offended.

NOTE TO CHRISTIANS!

DO NOT SUPPORT PROP 8.

VOTE NO ON 8.

PROP 8 IS A TRICK BEING USED BY THE MORMON "CHURCH" TO GAIN CREDIBILITY.

THEY ARE NOT CHRISTIANS.

Wow. Where did you find that?

Are you so insecure in your marriage that you would deny that right to two loving, consenting adults? What if one of your children is gay? Should they not be allowed the same legal rights as his/her siblings? This is a HUMAN RIGHTS issue and nothing else. It is not a religious issue, and I think you should open your eyes to what "sin" is. Being gay is not a sin. Discriminating against a segment of the population because of who they are, taking way the rights that the Constitution grants them... that is a sin.

Me: If there's no "worse" sin and we're all sinners, who are you (Yes on 8'ers) to assign 2nd-class citizen status to others? Is it because you don't really believe your own claims?

jr said it best: Discriminating against a segment of the population because of who they are, taking way the rights that the Constitution grants them... that is a sin."

After just passing a bunch of "ProtectMarriage" bigots with signs on my way home in the car, I am pleasantly amused to find Christians who are going to vote "No" because they hate Mormons and Catholics even more than they hate homosexuals. Pretty funny.

How does support of prop 8 have anything to do with idolatry? How do we make them 2nd class citizens? Where does the constitution give them the right to be immoral? I don't see that there is anything they will find to defend any of this. What saddens me most is that one could call themselves a Christian and support what Jesus himself is directly opposed to. Jesus says Himself that if anyone wants to be His disciple, he must pick up his cross daily and follow Him. That tells me it will not be easy, but that He knows the way of the cross well, and will go with us every step. He also said that we would be known by our love for one another. I think that comes across in words and actions. So I think we should be careful to call ourselves Christians if we do not live in a way that says we belong to Him. To be a Christian means to be "Christ like". How much like Christ are you in what you say and do? Just a thought for us all. I say repentance is in order for many. Thank the Lord for His mercy and His grace, and His longsuffering, or we would all be in big trouble. ~Debbie
