The Pill (Take 2)

I've posted on the pill before because after finding out some FACTS I felt I needed to share them. Since then I have been receiving many emails about it and after getting a comment tonight I stopped what I was doing(cleaning up a bridal shower that we just threw my cousin at my house) and wanted to do this post on the pill. I have been talking to pastors and doctors on this issue. I have become even more interested in this after really digging into it. Why are so many people uninformed? Why is this hidden info?
It is a raging controversy you may know little or nothing about.........But if you read this blog you now know:)

The debate has been raging for a decade and yet so few people know about it. I believe this is a deadly silence. Be informed! Inform others!
Learn for yourself....
There is a new movie out that I think if you are considering taking birth control or are currently on it you should watch this video and find out what it is you are actually taking and what it can actually do.
I have been struggling with the fact that as a Christian myself I was never told in the church how bad birth control was and for many Christians, birth control has been an issue of concern only for Catholics... THAT IS ALL CHANGING!
Check out this new video

I am also happy to say that Planned Parenthood in California has had a bad year and it is only getting worse for them!
Please make a quick phone call or send an email to Gov. Schwarzenegger to help Planned Parenthood LOSE up to 90 percent of it's funding in CA.
First, it was exposed misusing taxpayer dollars. Then it was shown to protect child rapists. In the face of a $24 billion shortfall, the state is considering pulling the Family PACT program, the innocently named government funding that fuels Planned Parenthood’s lucrative contraceptive programs. Even Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, no friend to the pro-life movement, recognizes that Planned Parenthood’s huge profits last year – derived in part from a 21 percent increase in abortions – makes it undeserving of taxpayer handouts. The state of California is desperate for money – it has even floated an idea to legalize and tax marijuana – and yet Planned Parenthood – tax-evading, molester-protecting, abortion-gorged Planned Parenthood – is receiving millions in tax dollars. In 2006 alone, Planned Parenthood received an estimated $30 million from California’s state funding.Seventy-four percent of Planned Parenthood clinics in California are medical and surgical abortion facilities. If state funding was taken from Planned Parenthood in this state, imagine how many lives could be saved.
We need YOU to call Gov. Schwarzenegger now! And tell him that Planned Parenthood does not deserve to pad their already gorged coffers with taxpayer dollars. You can e-mail Gov. Schwarzenegger at http://ss.all.org/link.php?M=53065&N=167&L=1194&F=HYou can reach him by phone at (916) 445-2841.
Thank you for your swift action! Together we can defund Planned Parenthood both in California and nationwide!
p.s. I will be doing the cloth diaper review and giveaway on Monday along with the Q&A so this is your last chance(ok maybe not) to ask me a question..haha
Thank you for all your prayers I am done throwing my fit..I think it was just PMS hormones haha (at least I'll blame it on that anyway)

Thank you for sharing the truth about the pill so boldly! When we were engaged, my now-husband and I decided, under the counsel of a pastor :o( to use hormonal birth control. The only way I can describe my unease is that there was a DEEP STIRRING WITHIN MY SPIRIT that I could not ignore. I used the pill for the first 6 months of our married life, during which time I studied and learned natural family planning.

While studying NFP and FAM, I was shocked and heartbroken to learn the truth about how hormonal birth control actually works! I think that if more women knew the potential for loss of life, they would make different decisions.

For women wanting to drop the pill, but not sure how, check out "Taking Charge of your Fertility" by Toni Weschler!

Did you hear about Dr. Tiller yet? I just don't understand why people can't agree to disagree! Instead people's differences cause murder. It is just so sad.

I still see no way to justify abortion. Your post made me think of the Duggars because they lost their first child because she was on the pill. Then they decided not to use contraceptives, hence the # of people in their family. Honestly, I'm hoping you have more kids, too =)

i did a research paper on the effects of the pill on a woman's chance for breast cancer when i was in h.s. (homeschooled) that was in the early 90's and i found too much even then!

A,
yes, I did hear about Tiller so so sad! He was an abortionist who performed very late term abortions but that is no excuse to go murder him...but what I think is more sad is that he could be an usher on Sunday's in chuch while his wife sings in the choir and kill babies M-F...very, very sad! How can you live a double life?

40 days of life team:

"As a nationwide organization dedicated to peaceful
and prayerful solutions to the crisis of abortion,
40 Days for Life is shocked and dismayed by the
shooting death of Kansas abortion provider George
Tiller. Such violence against a fellow human being
is never justified, and 40 Days for Life condemns
this senseless act. We encourage people of faith to
join in prayer for all those affected by this
unconscionable action."

I am also shocked and saddened at the murder of Dr. Tiller. I don't understand how someone who believes that abortion is murder, can turn around and murder someone else! Both are wrong and I hope the mainstream media continues to reinforce that MOST anti-abortion groups are absolutely against vigilante violence of any kind.

That being said, I also wonder how he reconciled his "religious affiliations" with his unfortunate choice in career...

Again, thank you so much for sharing about the pill. I had NO IDEA. Bobby and I thought this was the safe, responsible way to "Wait until we were ready". We were told that it prevented ovulation, and felt very comfortable using it as birth control for years until we were ready to start our family. NEVER again will I take the pill and risk the possibility of ovulating and losing a baby.

I agree, I think he was living a double life. A sad, sad way to spend M-F. It still doesn't justify anything. I just don't get this world sometimes!

I somehow missed the first "The Pill" posting...nicely done!

I took the pill for 3 months after my husband and I had our first child, and then stopped. Something in me told me it was wrong, despite the doctors assurance. Things just didn't make sense to me. So I stopped then did some reading, which reassured me in my choice.

The more I read just the instructions that came with it the quicker I realized it didn't prevent ovulation just implantation....and too me that was murder.

It's been 13 years since we got pregnant with our first, we are blessed to have 2 others...we don't need contraceptives to prevent pregnancy. We are still "young"... I turn 30 later this year, so we know we have many years of fertility ahead of us. We also know that God will only give us children that we can care for, no matter what "precautions" we are taking.

Our one unplanned is a gift from God that we were not expecting, but accepted...can't imagine life with out my little man :)

I have always steered well clear of the pill.It interferes with what you body needs to do and so I don't regard it as healthy. Also I don't think they ever tell us the full facts about side effects etc. I just don't like the idea of it messing with your body.
