In My Spare Time...

Yesterday, Faith and I had our first crochet class. Faith did very well. I just got my fingers all tangled up! We will be taking the class every Tuesday while Landen is in preschool and Austin babysits the babies outside the class. I have always wanted to learn but figured I'd just wait till I was old and gray. Faith is very artsy fartsy and wanted to learn so I figured I'd join in on the fun. It's a good break and theirs some nice ladies in there too. Faith should have a scarf done by end of winter, I might be lucky enough to get mine done when it's summer and over 100 degree's out. I'm sure I'll wear it then too. After all this hard work!!!

Once we get the scarfs down we will be learning to make little blankets for an organization called Living Well that helps girls who get pregnant and are deciding life instead of abortion. Our blankets will go to the little babies that are blessed to live! Faith and I can't wait. It's a great way to serve and having fun together doing it too!

I am also very sad to announce that poor little Fran is no longer with us. Faith was doing her chores this morning, watering the garden then going to check to see if Fran layed any eggs when she came running in crying. Something got to Fran and whatever it was it looked like it went on a rampage, feathers everywhere, things knocked over. She was torn up and all I saw was bone, blood and feathers. It wasn't a pretty sight! I about lost my breakfast. My kids and I were very upset. Pool little Fran:( We think it was a opossums?

Aunt Brianna made this for the kids..haha! What a nice auntie.

Awww poor Fran :(
Dont let that stop you, you just need to build a stronger cage.
Wider so nothing can get to her.
Are you getting a new one?

I loved to crochet when I was younger, I need to start something like that again.
Have fun!

Oh I'm sooo sorry about Fran - that was Bobby's final reason why we couldn't get a chicken...yet. We have coyotes all over around here so it wouldn't survive long.

So sorry about Fran. Your sister's tribute thingy made me giggle.:)
Good luck with the crocheting. And I had to laugh at your title, b/c I'm sure with 5 kids you have so much of that spare time.

My mom has tried to teach me to crochet...and I fumble EVERY TIME! My mom makes the most incredible things from crochet that I've ever seen. At least I have some of her pieces...I did not inheret the gift. Sorry to hear about Fran. We know how you feel...we lost our cat of 10 years, and 4 guinea pigs all during last summer. It was kind of a sad summer:( Maybe Fran, Toby, Sparkle, Popcorn, Twinkie, and scruffles are all playing together ;)(wink!)

Sorry about Fran, lost alot of animals that way in my lifetime living in Chino. Maybe the boys could have a project in building a strong chicken coup. Still sad though....Fran is in heaven all put back together.....

Your an amazing mom Bridget!

Hi Bridget...

Krystyn's Mom here! I want to learn to crochet, and wondered if you would tell me where you're taking the class?

Also, so sorry about Fran! I saw a "Free Rooster" on Craigslist this morning and thought of you guys, so was sad when I read the news about Fran. I'm most sorry that Faith was the one who found her. Poor Baby. For a good laugh, next time you speak with Krystyn, ask her how she reacted when her first goldfish, "Bob" died. Omigosh....!!! :)

I enjoy reading your blog. You have always, always, always inspired Krystyn! Thanks for setting such a stellar example!

Bless your heart!
