A quote that seems to explain our family...

“Around here, however, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things… and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.”

-Walt Disney

I'm kind of a quote collector/lover. One of my favorite missionary stories is that of Jim Elliot.

He said, "He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain that which he cannot lose."

We have kind of an off the wall family. The phrase heard most often is "instant karma"
We do not believe in karma. The phrase refers to the idea of being rewarded or punished for your actions. So when my son steals a toy from my daughter but trips on his getaway, that would be instant karma.
We also use the game Marco Polo as a sort of echo location when we are unsure where someone is in the house. Like I said, we are not normal by any stretch of the imagination.

Okay, here's one of my absolute faves, I'm sure you'll understand why...

"People who say they sleep like a baby, usually don't have one." -Leo J. Burke

I don't have one for our family.

My personal one is "If you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all" - Thumper from Bambi.

I live by the quote that "Everything happens for a reason". It's amazing when sometimes you just can't understand "why" something happens, and you look back later in life and see exactly why it happened and how it has affected your life in some way!

God has already planned out our lives...we are just on for the ride!
