Hey Moms...

I no longer am driving around with an expired license...
Just thought you’d like to know, in case you don’t like associating with criminal types.

I'm usually on top of these types of things but because I hate taking kids to the dmv we have moved so much I never got my renewal letter.

Today was the first day I could drive without being scared of getting thrown in jail and getting beat up and leaving my kids left without a mom.

On our way to VBS the kids and I got into the topic of Michael Jackson’s death.(I think my moon walking in the kitchen triggered the topic) It is a sad ending to such a sad life. It was also a good reminder to tell my kids that it doesn't matter who you are here on earth. It doesn't matter how rich or poor you are. If your a famous singer or football player etc. What really matters most is not what happens in this life but the next. (we love that song life is good eternal life is better) MJ feared death and yet he could not avoid it. In fact, all his fame and fortune doesn’t matter now. God's not like oh, yeah your MJ the King of Pop come on in...

I mean, we can send our kids to the best schools, dress them in the cuttest clothes, blog about how well they do on SAT's or sports but if we do not prepare our sons and daughters to stand before God, we will have let them down and doomed them and us to an eternity of regrets.

Mom's and Dad's it's not the church’s job, your pastor’s job, or the school's job…it’s YOUR job. That’s why I plan to make sure I talk to my kids all the time about the Bible, God, Sin, and how Jesus came to make a way for us to enjoy all this good family stuff FOREVER.
I honestly don't care if my kid is pushing a broom (I'll be mad after all this time spent teaching) but if they are pushing the broom and have a personal relationship with Jesus then I will be more than proud!
So Mom's, do what’s eternally important…and make sure your driver's license hasn’t expired.

Really enjoyed reading this, very true! Sometimes we forget the most important things and get carried away with "life" but we need to sit back and look at the big picture! Thanks for the reminder :)

Terrific point. It is so easy to forget what is ultimately the ONLY thing that matters.

:) It was awsome-- I decided it would be a good investment to get sea world passses to have fun, and enjoy God's amazing creation... so at sea world we were looking at the Bat rays and Isaac looks at this stranger and says, GOD MADE THAT!!! AWSOME! :) hehe... So tiny, but I was stoked my 4 year old is telling people God is the creator.

I'm glad I am not the only one who doesn't notice their license is expired! I was driving with an expired license for 3 months and just got it renewed about a month ago. I was so scared of getting pulled over and arrested. Thanks for the encouragement on my blog. I too wish we could live next door to each other and I would love to cook for you guys as long as you buy the groceries for your family of 7!:) And then you could homeschool my kids!:)
Love ya!

This is so good and true, about what's important and preparing our kids, and talking to them, "as we go." Thank you so much! I like your blog!
