4th Of July

First let me start off by saying that I DO thank all the men and women who have fought for our freedom. We Americans would not have the freedom and quality of life we enjoy today if it were not for courageous men and women who were influential and pivotal points in our history.
If you know me by now I use every excuse to teach my children. I didn't let 4th of July go by without making sure I touched a little on history and talked about the year 1776 when the American colonies declared their Independence from England.
Lately America has focused on what is wrong with America more than what is right. We complain about spiritual apathy, immorality, drugs, crime, heath care, the economy etc...real problems that need effective solutions, but it was nice to stop and really celebrate what is right with the United States. I am very proud to be an American. I continue to pray for this country! I thank God the giver of all good gifts for the gift of this country and the freedoms I enjoy as a citizen.

Ok, so maybe some freedoms should be taken away.....
Did this lady really feel the need to put this horse between her legs and gallop in the parade?
My sister and I sure had a good laugh!
The funny thing was she wasn't laughing she was serious!

This lady right here just turned 100 and led us in the parade..she is witty as ever (even with all the gems glued on her shoes)

Aut cruised in style....

I think this diva had too many feathers in her face to really enjoy her ride....

2 thumbs up for this dude!

And these two cuties just waved their flags and enjoyed all the attention from the crowd......

They looked so cute I couldn't stop taking pictures of them...

And of course Aven waving to the crowd while drinking his bottle....

Maggie even joined in on the fun....

Finley Hope...Future Miss America

After the parade we headed to nana and papa's house to cool off....

He may not be able to swim just yet but he sure can pull off a nice front flip....

We ate good ol American food and relaxed!

Then it was off to watch the firework show as I led the kids in patriotic songs haha....

Finley enjoyed her 1st 4th of July and wasn't even scared of the fireworks:)

What is with those suped-up (?sp) wagons? Did you buy those that way? I have never seen wagons likes those two. The second one has a rack for a cooler! Seriously, can you get them that way or this some family inventions? Okay.... anyway, You all look great. My little one suprised me and loved the fireworks, also.

Oh. My. Word. That has got to be the funniest photo I've ever seen. Honestly, after the woman riding the horse, the rest of your photos passed in a bit of a blur, as I was wiping the tears from my eyes... I guess I really needed a good laugh.
