The Drive In Movies

We told all the kids to get in their p.j.'s and get in the car. They didn't understand were we could possibly be taking them in their p.j.'s. We told them it was a surprise. Surprises make everything a little bit more fun. We packed blankets, pillows and snacks then stopped by KFC for a bucket of chicken and were on our way. The last time we went to a drive-in Austin and Faith were both very small they don't remember. So this was new to them, and they were excited to watch a movie in the car! Before the movie started we had a little picnic and let the kids run around and get all the wiggles out before the movie started. It was a cheap family fun night. Even better, they didn't have to be super quiet or whisper before or during the show.

Bridget, I so enjoy reading your blog! I take my 5 kids to the drive-in too, only problem is- I can't surprise them anymore, now when I tell them to get their pj's on and get in the car they automatically know where we are going! But its still fun nonetheless. Okay, I have to ask, what kind of car did you end up getting? Did you break down and get a minivan??? I might be in the car market soon too!

This looks like so much fun! Where do you get their jammies? Noah doesn't have any cute matching pj's. He looks like an orphan when I put him to sleep in a pair of shorts that are too small for him and no shirt! I'm jealous of your kids' pj's!!!

That sounds like so much fun! I wish we had a drive-in around here. It has been years since I have been to one.

Hi there - great idea - I just have to ask; were is the drive-in that you went to and the great park in Azusa? I'd love to take my little ones, new places are always fun, and the park sounds great:) Shannon srhicks66@hotmail.com or thehartzherd.blogspot.com
Don't worry, i'm sure with 5 little ones you won't have much time to get back to me soon
