Diamonds and Duggars in Arkansas......

Dad's (and Mom's) right hand man...

(grease on his hands and all)

His job is to hook up the car...

and make sure he puts in the pin!
And were on our way....
A diesel truck pulls along side of us and tells us to pull over...
Great! What? A tire? The pin?
Turns out it's just our steps were left down. There automatic but for some reason didn't work the last time we shut the door.

Let's try this again....
And were on our way...
lights aren't working now.
Great? What?
Daddy fixes them and we are on our way again (yes, we sang "on the road again" every time too)......

About 15min later we see a cop car pull up next to us and follows us for awhile.
Great! What?
I know it's not for speeding...
I start thinking when was registration due? On car? On RV? Is every thing up to date? Yes, then what could he be doing...

Sure enough he gets behind us and turns on his lights!
I start to panic..."shhhh kids, sit down, be quiet, get Maggie."
Hmmmmmm, why is he pulling us over?
Maybe he saw little heads jumping up and down?
Justin is trying to slow down and find a place to pull over...

Turns out Tennessee cops just like to "chat" and make friends with Californians. And cause me to have a heart attack for NOTHING!
He liked our "set up" and we talked to him about our trip. He asked what church we went to, asked about the kids, (he has a baby girl Finley's age) and so on.....
Weird! Definitely not in California anymore!
He was a nice guy...
We had a nice "chat" and were on our way (hoping this was our last detour).........it was! Thank God! I wonder if God was just "detouring us on purpose? You never know. Just weird!

We arrived in Walmart Sam's club this time and stayed the night. Lucky us!

Finley's eye is getting better. It's still a little bruised and puffy. The stitches should fall out any day. She tried picking at them, so she now sleeps with big long socks on her hands.

We crossed over the Mississippi river and are now in .....

Arkansas

The natural state.....

Farrah doesn't seem to like the "natural" look I guess...

She likes to color her "yips" bright orange!
nice Farrah!

We are hoping to find some Diamonds and Duggars while we're here:) We're staying at a really pretty campsite. Next to a pretty stream. The weather is nice high 60's low 70's. Great weather for hiking.

I sure wish we could meet the Duggars, how cool would that be?!?!

We plan to dig for diamonds at the Crater of Diamonds...

Rumor is a 2ct diamond was found last month.

If we strike it rich, I'll be sure to share with all those that follow this blog:)

How fun! That would be so neat to see the Duggars! I bet you could park the RV in their yard.
When are you going to be to IL?

After we went to ARK a couple months back I found out we were only about 20 minutes from the Duggar's the whole time! I wish I could meet them.... but you know we don't want to be stalkers, either... right?! I would love to live with them for a week for some "training". The amaze me. We did not dig for diamonds, although we were near there. It was just too cold & wet to be digging in the dirt. I always thought of ARK as kinda "hokey" until this trip.... then, I realized I really love it there. Oddly, it is almost like where I live, but more hilly. Loved it there. have a great time.

I am always amazed how much I learn as we home school. We are using ECC this year an loving it. May God continue to bless you on your journey. Are you planning to come to North Dakota (where we live)?

I have been reading for a long time and have not commented. You must come to Little Rock while in Arkansas, and if you need some guidance I work at City Hall :)
