Train

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

“Children do not accidentally become righteous leaders or emotionally healthy and productive adults -– any more than seeds thrown randomly to the wind grow to be part of a thriving garden. Simply throwing children into a cultural tornado and hoping for the best gives them little chance of living up to their potential or coming out unharmed.
Someone needs to take responsibility for their nurture, protection, nourishment, intellectual development, manners, recreation, personal needs, and spiritual development. Someone needs to commit time and energy into staying close to them as they grow, encouraging and correcting and teaching.”
Sally Clarkson

The Clarkson family has helped me stay on track as I train my kids up. I enjoy their books and conferences. Last year I walked away from their weekend from the Whole Heart Ministries conference with a refreshed and new take to homeschooling and family life.

The mission of Whole Heart Ministries is “to encourage and equip Christian
parents to build a biblical home and a godly heritage by nurturing, disciplining
and educating their children at home.” Whole Heart Ministries strives to
serve Christian parents and their children worldwide through ministries of
speaking, teaching, training, writing and publishing that focus on the biblical
and practical aspects of home nurture, home discipleship, and home
education. Our ultimate objective is to come alongside Christian parents to
help them prepare their children to become Christian leaders in the next
generation.

I'm not sure which one I will be able to make. I'm sure I will stop off at one of them while on the road. I'm hoping to win 6 free tickets and will be happy to give them away on my blog if I do. It would be fun to meet up with some of you at one of the conferences!

The theme this year is "YOU...Renewed!"

I highly recommend you trying to make it. AWESOME STUFF! (not just for homeschoolers)
