I'm A Wimp

I'll admit it!

Someone shoots me a dirty look and my vision immediately starts to blur as my eyes fill with tears and my bottom lip starts to quiver.

I guess I take after my mom on that too.

But seriously you guys, I'm wiping my tears away! All your comments and emails were such a blessing for me to read.
Thank you all for taking the time to show me some love.

I guess what really got me down was the personal attacks.
I don't like even giving people like that the privilege of viewing my blog just so they can be snoopy and look for the wrong in me and my family.
As for the other snots who degrade me, I find it interesting that they ridicule my blog and call me ignorant but still read it almost daily! Hypocrisy at it’s finest don’t you think? I'll pray for them. I will! Something in their life is causing them to be mean.
(and as Faith would say, "you will get a beautiful crown in heaven.")

I'm often the topic on threads at the UK Student Room. I'm a Christian Creationist Homeschooler. I guess that entertains them? *most of what you will find on their threads are made up, I did not say.
Being that I homeschool, makes people seem to think they can grade my blog posts?

I'm learning that when you are blogging publicly, about opinions or beliefs, negative responses will happen!
Some are just criticisms, others are really mean and nasty and even personal. You need to have thick skin to survive in blogland, so I'm told.

So, what's a wimp to do?

I've really been praying about blogging and searching my own heart as to why I'm doing it. I was going to do a goodbye post (it was already scheduled) but after reading through some emails and comments I changed my mind. (your begging worked..haha)

God has showed me through many emails of people and their stories! One lady emailed me(with permission to share) who is an atheist but now is looking into Creation because my blog was private she found me and is now reading the Bible for the first time and found Ken Ham's ministry!( through a link I had up. Another said they prayed for the first time in their life after reading my blog. I had no idea! And many others...I'm not bragging in anyway but I guess God can use the worst spellers after all HA!

I may get mean emails but there is plenty of you who love me despite my flaws. And My husband is right, the community and group of girls here are too much to give up. I love you guys....(tears... bottom lip quiver)HA!
So, if you are a blogger know that what you put out there people do read. They just might not always comment. You never know who your blog may touch.

We all know Mckmama and I love her blog. I've learned a lot from her. Keep going even when other's try to tear you down. Now she has some thick skin. She has a baby with a heart condition and people formed blogs against her and dug up all the dirt they could find on her and posted it all over the Internet.
It's like a group of people got together and said, "Lets kick her hard while she's already down."

Just today after reading another favorite blog. Brittany at 4littlemenandgirlytwins.
Talk about kicking and beating up someone who is already hurting...

She got hundreds of mean nasty comments.
Here's a few:
a "fairytale" about a Boy and Girl is just childish and frankly, a bizarre choice.

The economy has been tanking for the past few years. You knew this, yet you still chose to buy organic, add more children to your already large family, buy expensive vitamins, etc. All of those expensive clothes, toys, baby carriers that you either bought or had given to you can be SOLD at a garage sale. And don't you all have a BMW station wagon? I'm sure it was a used car, but I'm also sure that it uses something other than regular gas...another unnecessary expense. Ford makes station wagons.McDonald's is hiring.
oh and ps - lovely picture for the button - could have you chosen one that screams "poor poor us" a little more loudly? I'm not sure its clear enough...

These people don't know her! Yet they are quick to judge.

I loved this story....

A family had to go on food stamps for eight months. Once in the grocery line, a fellow shopper said to her, "You have a Coach purse and you are on food stamps?" She cried right there and then. Little did that person know that her purse had been a gift and she didn't even know what Coach was.

We need to stop judging and lift each other up(like you all did to me)

and as my friend Marie puts at the bottom of all her sweet emails:

Be kinder than necessary - everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.

Thank you again for all your support and love. To all who disagree with me or who are very different in beliefs... Thank you for your nice comments and for sticking around despite our differences. I wish I could respond to each of you. And yes, you can call me Bridge:)

Glad you're sticking around. I'm new to this world so didn't know about the negative side, but can't say I'm too surprised. To me, blogging is about the possibility of God using what I say to change another's heart. As you shared, He's already done that with you. Putting up with a little resistance is easier when you know what a difference you've made in others' lives. I've been studying Acts in Community Bible Study this year. The early church was persecuted so they scattered throughout Judea and Samaria, but guess what? They didn't stop preaching the Word and Christ. They kept on and the church grew. All I can do is share God's Word and it's up to Him if He wants to use it. I want to do my part and let Him do the rest! And by the way, you were not offensive in any way.

Aww, this brought tears to my eyes! Your photos are lovely! I am very glad that you are going to continue to blog. I just found your blog recently, and I have only read a few posts, but I was encouraged by them. I love reading about other Christian stay-at-home, homeschooling Mommas who are content and happy in their blessed lives. I think we can be such an encouragement to other young Momma's. Thanks for sharing your blessings with us. I am praying for you today. {grin}

I'm sorry you have to deal with negativity. I don't agree with you 100% on some things, but I still respect your views and enjoy reading about your life. You are a beautiful person inside and out. I'm glad you aren't going to let them get to you, because the good that comes with your blogging and sharing your life with people far outweighs the bad.

Bridge (hehe),

I don't think I have ever commented before, but I am proud of you. I read your post the other day and I got sad. I'm sick of my favorite bloggers getting attacked. I praise our Lord and Savior that people are finding him through your words. Those who attack need prayers the most and I will lift them up.

I love the pics of your kids and please just keep on keeping on.

YAY!! I do know how you feel as I too have been critized about my blogging...it does make you question why. However, I think the Lord must have shown you loud and clear why you must continue on. PRAISE GOD...if all that ever resulted was one person getting saved or having a closer walk with Him, then it was worth it. Soo YAY...Now having said that I will say, your kids looked ADORABLE...they are really soo cute. Whereever did you get those butterfly hair clips, my granddaughter would flip!!? Have a good day and may God continue to bless this blog...Debbie

Good for you. I'm so glad you're staying :) How else would I KIT with you while you're on the road!? I say let the judgers judge because the lovers love you more :) And the only one who has the right to judge you is God himself. And you know what... he doesn't mind if you don't spell correctly all the time. He loves that you are raising your children up the way they should go and are being a great example of what a Christian woman, wife and mother should be. And THAT is what matters :) xoxo

Honestly, I'm a wimp too. I'm lucky that I haven't had too much negativity on my blog yet. But we are public and there will be immaturity out there.

I'm glad you're not quitting. Even if one person takes a step closer to God because of your blog - isn't it all worth it?

Oh Bridget that is why I love you. Your die hard attitude encourages us all. I think that if anyone of those that judge you met you in person and actually saw what an amazing person you are they would eat their words. You are a blessing to me a struggling mom of 4 who can't find the time to shower or do laundry that God loves me stinky and all. I am blessed to have you as a friend and if God answers Zach's prayers LOL someday as a family member :) miss you and I am praying you bless many people as you travel. Love ya girlie and keep up the good work.

Bridget, your beautiful pictures and contagiously fun family (and blogs) would be sorely missed if you chose to leave.
As for your critics, I think a good thing to remember is that life is a journey and so is our spiritual walk. I'm sure throughout your life you've been at many different places and held many different views and I'm sure in 20 more years you will be in different places from where you are now. However, for this season you've chosen to share you're journey with the world. You can't let their comments get you down because every journey has mountains and valleys and twists and turns. As Christians we're just doing the best we can with what we got, trying to follow Jesus. Remember that, you are awesome!

I ran across your blog a while back. My BFF Fawn now reads you too. If people don't like your blog, they shouldn't read it. Same thing I saw about tv. If there is something offensive, turn it off. You sound like a precious, caring, wonderful person. I hope you continue to blog and continue to keep it open to the public. Your energy and words have inspired me. I have a hard time keeping up with one child, and then I see all that you do! You are not afraid to stand up and say what you believe. More people should be like that. God is working through you in many, many ways. Keep up the great work! hugs, nicolle in texas
