3rd Times A Charm...

Warning this is everywhere just venting in the few minutes I have

Things are all making sense now. Laying in bed I couldn't sleep thinking about how I could possibly maybe bribe the owner not to move back in and let us stay and go on with our original plan. I even thought about building a back house and letting her stay there. I had so many questions going through my head. I would pop up with a question and scare my husband who sleeps like a baby and doesn't let things get to him, "but why would she want to move back in?" "She can't take care of this house?" Why this, why that. We had so many questions and I just needed to find out. So I called her and she kept changing her story. She said that she was on vacation and couldn't talk. So, I called the property manager and tried to get some info out of him as to why she wanted to move back in. A very lonnnnnnng story short...We've been played AGAIN! For the 3rd time. We ended up talking to her bank (because we like to pretend we are detectives) So, the bank told us that the owner hasn't made a payment for 18 months!!!! Yep, she has just been pocketing our money. She knew renting to us that she was already in default. She has just been extending the auction date. Every payment that we made sure we didn't pay a day late. And the fact that our rent was more than double what her payment was made me even more mad. We are so hurt! We feel so used AGAIN. This is the 3rd time in a row this has happened to us. You see this time when renting we sat down with the owner and the property manager and told them how we had to move 2x due to foreclosure homes. We just wanted to make sure this would not happen again. That we wouldn't have to rip our kids from another house and another neighborhood full of friends.Every thing looked good and plans were set and hopes were high when we signed our lease. Come to find out their is already an offer on the table etc etc... she has no intention on moving back in it was all a lie. Every time she talked to me it was a big lie. How does she sleep at night. I honestly feel more sorry for her and the the guilt she has to live with than I do for us. I will continue to pray for her even though I am angry.
I'm taking it as a way of God shutting this door and a time to move on...

So, yesterday we sat down and told the kids. I love my kids they are so optimistic. They of course were sad but not as sad as I thought they would be. Maybe they are just use to this by now. Faith said mom, "were just missionaries moving around." Ah, I love her!

So, we get in the car and head out to do some work we need to do in planning for our move and low and behold our brakes in the car go out!

So we spent much of the morning in an auto body shop with all the kids FUN! NOT!
"Mom, I'm hungry!"
"Mom, where are we going to live"
"Mom, does grandma know yet?"
"Mom, what about Maggie can she move with us?"
"Mom, when are they going to be done?"
"Mom, can I have a dollar for the candy machine?"
Mom this mom that.
I seriously wanted to crawl in the fetal position and lay on that greasy smelly dirty floor and change my name!
I finally yelled, "Mommy is off duty, please leave a message and find the father figure of the household it's Saturday and his shift just started!" My children of course ignored my sarcasm and continued to bombard me with requests and questions. I didn't blame them. And I know it's all part of being a mommy, it's part of our calling, right?

After all I am like that with the Lord lately,
God, "why do we have to move?"
God, "why did this happen to us again?"
God, this and God that...
I am so thankful he doesn't get tired of hearing my requests. I can call on Him all the time and He never gets sick of me or wants to change his name:)
It's all making sense to me know and I know this was all part of God's plan.
God, "What's next?"

Bridget,
Look inot to California Civil Code Section 890-894. This is called rent skimming, you can sue her for damamges, the landlord and the so called friend are doomed. I will let you know how things transpire with us in court. I will email you with my ohone number. I will be in Chino today, if you want maybe we can get together and talk....

Peace....

I am so sorry you guys are going through this. Is it to late for you to make an offer too? I can understand just wanting to move on after finding out all of that though.

You know - San Dimas is nice. :O)

I'm so sorry this is happening to you, Bridget. I love your daughter's point of view- you're all just missionaries. His plan is perfect and He will show you where you can be used next :) God bless your sweet family :)

Why not just buy a house, so you can be positive that this won't happen to your kids again?

I'm glad your kids took the news better than expected. How frustrating for you family though, sorry you have to go through this.

Oh bridget I am so sorry :( I cant believe how people can live with themselves. I will for sure pray for your situation and pray that God brings you to a home that is even better than the one you are in now.

It is sad how many times this has happened to people I know. Just remember to hold onto God and you will get through this.

Don't worry about wanting to change your name. I probably say that once a week. Between teaching all day and having kids at home, there are days I just want to be anonymous!

Hi Bridget, I've been reading your blog for a few weeks and have delighted in finding a similar-minded mommy in you:)

We've been though something similar this summer and I've been questioning God and His plan for us over and over again. It's so tough not to be able to put down solid roots and to deal with such dishonesty. I've had to tell myself over and over that God will deal with those who cause harm to His children and vengence is His alone. My job is to keep serving my family as joyfully as possible and trust that God's will is perfect and complete. We have to keep loving, even those who persecute us (I would not have been able to write this even a few weeks ago).

I know you don't know me, but I would love to pray for you and your family. Be blessed :)

Oh my gosh. Dear Lord, please have mercy.

You definitely need to take Marie's advice!!!

I am so sorry to hear this news, and I am praying for you. Hey, you may find that God has something EVEN BETTER than what you already thought you had in store for your family, sweetie! Hang in there! Trust in your heavenly Father for peace and strength and Charity in all things.

Love you!

I'm praying for you as your family once again have to move and have to go through being lied to and deceived.
You and your family are a testimony of Chirst's love as you continue to pray for the current owner.

That totally stinks. I can't believe act like that. My mom and I were just talking about the dishonesty in people these days. I don't remember people being so dishonest a few years back. WHat is this world coming to? But, I agree with Marie. And why can't you make an offer. You'd think, since you're already there, they'd give you extra points. :)
I'm praying for ya.

I hope you as soon as you find a new place to call home (maybe permanently, think optimistically) that you can take some legal action. That is just not right!!!!!

OH.....MY.....GOSH!!! Are you kidding me??? I am at a loss for words. I can't even believe that. What would make someone take advantage of another person like that? What a sad sad woman.

Is there any chance you can talk to the bank and show that you've been renting it this long and see if they will sell to you? And I would definitely look into legal action against her. I was telling Chris over dinner just now and was telling him that there HAS to be some kind of protection for renters to keep this from happening.

I will be praying for you guys and I agree with Faith, you guys move around and spread the Love of Jesus every where that you go :) Hugs sweetie!!
Love,
Heather

Oh OH OH... this is SO wrong!!!! I am so sorry. Thank goodness you know God is in control of your life. Who knows, maybe there is something horribly wrong with the house... cracked foundation, termites, mold, plumbing... that He is protecting you all from in the long run. Atleast you had a great time there with all the beautiful flowers, fresh fruit and vegies and pool for the summer. God will lead you to were you belong... your next mission field:)

Oh hang in there Bridgett. I'm so sorry to hear this. But you're so right. The Lord is hearing your pleas and He'll get you thru this. It just stinks having to go thru this a 3rd time. I pray everything will turn out and you'll find a beautiful house to call home for good.

I'm sorry you are going through this right now! Is there any chance that you could make an offer on the house? Somehow things will work out according to His plan...

Bridget,

Looks like your getting alot of prayers your way, lots of support. This is frustrating I know, I feel at least I had a warning with the notice on our door which allowed us time to prepare and search. There are first-time home buyer programs out there for an $8000.00 credit and also from what I understand another $10,000 if you buy a new home.

I cried for days, did not sleep at all, broke out in hives....my children too handled it better than I.....

If you need anything let me know, I am here to help in any way.

One more question, who is making you leave? There is also cash for keys, the party/bank whoever should pay you to leave.....if it was forclosed and the bank owns it they will pay you to leave.

Again I am so so sorry! I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL!

I will email you with details after Tuesday!

God Bless you and your family!

Marie

Wow! I have heard of several people in this same situation, so don't think you are the only ones. One thing you can think of is since she hasn't made the payment for 18+ months it will soon fall into foreclosure and then you guys would get a really good deal buying it. Praying for your family!!

Jen said...

Wow! I am so sorry to hear all of that! God must have bigger plans for you and your family:) Keep your chin up!

Wow, there are no words for how bad your situation stinks!! but, I am so impressed with Faith's comment, ya'll are obviously teaching her what really matters. That was so sweet.

I am so sorry for you and your family. I can't believe what I had read. I guess it is starting to be the new trend. It's terrible that no one had informed you that this was going on. I wish you and your family lots of luck on finding something you will not have to move from unless its your choice. Good luck and God bless.

Grrr... People are so horrible!
You are right she will have to live with her guilt.
Faith is right, maybe it's time to get that RV and just be missionaries lol.

So sorry about all of this but yes look into this, it dosent sound legal. Might this qualify for taking money under false pretenses? She took the money to pay for the house but didnt do that? Marie is right look into it.

I will keep you guys in my thoughts.

consult with a lawyer... there are ways to delay a sale date by the bank, just to buy you some more time. U need to let the bank know the situation, legaly they must give you more time bacause you are tenants.WOW how does that lady sleep at night for the last 18+ months..knowing the outcome would leave a good family crushed. P.S.- The IRS might like to know about your landlords income as well!
