Our Oldest Princess....

June is such a busy month for our princess Faith. She usually attends prom with her daddy and then her birthday party always falls on the next day or so. This year(yesterday) her birthday party was in the morning and her prom was in the afternoon...I can't keep up with her social life!!!! So, last night was the big night, Faith went to prom with her daddy for the 4th year in a row. She looks forward to this day all year. We make it a big deal. We have mommy and me shopping time where we go out and find the perfect dress and matching tie for daddy. Then daddy takes over and treats her like a princess and makes sure she knows how she is to be treated. He opens the door for her and they just have a fun night together dancing the night away. She will always remember these special date nights out with her daddy.

Here are pictures of the past 4 years........She has grown up WAY too fast!!!! Her first prom she was 4 turning 5 and now she will be 8 tomorrow!

You can imagine how many pictures I took of each dance...getting ready etc. and then threatened my husband to take pictures at the prom as well... but I'll just post a few...
oh wait that's my husband and I SR. prom....LOL

I went to all 4 proms with my husband and now Faith is going with Justin to Faith's 4th prom...what a guy!

I will be posting pictures of this year later...I still need to download:) Have a good weekend.

April Rose Blog...What Happened???

I know I'm a day late.........
I've been getting emails about April Rose's blog. In case those of you who don't know all that happened here is a blog that Explains the story.
I know most of you were linked from my blog to hers....
My kids and I prayed for this mom and the unborn baby every morning as we do all the other sick babies and children around the blog world. So, so sad...we now will pray for this lady who is obvious going through something to cause her to do this.

I Guess Chuck E Cheese Won't Cut It....

I am busy planning 4 summer birthday parties. I say throw one big party but the kids say no! Faith turns 8 on the 14th of June. Then I have a day to take a breath and Landen turns 4 on the 16th. Finley turns the big 1 in July and Austin turns the big 10 in Aug. Didn't I just get done planning Farrah's big bunny bash???
Anyway, So after asking Austin to write me a list of some of the things he wanted to do for his 10th birthday I guess I should of been more specific in what I meant....
Here is his list:
1. Take a safari in Africa
2. Go shark caging.
3. Go for a ride in an apache helicopter.
4. Fly to Kentucy to visit the creation museum.

We have had many themed bdays.... I like to make a theme and go off of it... usually gets way out of hand... One year it was frogs..everything was frogs, one year cupcakes, planes, sharks, dumptrucks etc...What party themes or ideas have you done...ideas?????????

Am I Smarter Than A 5th Grader?

Probably not! But I am going to have to learn to be since this handsome guy was just promoted to the 5th grade!

5th grade! I can't believe I have a 5th grader now. My husband and I just looked at each other when Austin walked up on stage to be promoted...like really 5th grade???
I have to admit I am a little nervous about teaching him next year. I keep telling myself I only need to be one day smarter than him ha.
As for this little girl (who argues with me that she doesn't need to do school because she is just going to be an artist anyway) was just promoted to 3rd grade!

They had to get a picture with their favorite teacher:)

I am so proud of them...They really did work hard this year!!!!!!

I don't know what Farrah is holding but she just wanted an award too.

Austin 1st place for President sports award.

After all the family pictures we headed to Red Robin for some celebrating...

and fighting......

As soon as they set that pie down on the table it was dangerous fork fighting...
serious business....

to each their own....

You don't think I was taking these pictures do you? How could I shove my face and fight for my fair share of chocolate....
I did manage to share a little whipped cream with Finley....

We had a fun night. We did it! Our 2nd year of homeschooling! Congrats to my big 3rd and 5th grader!!!!

Fashion Faith

That's what we call her.
I told her I could of put a trash bag on her and she still would of figured out how to make it look fashion in some way ha. But instead I put a pillowcase on her on she pulled it off:) She loved her dress!!! whew!
I had a vision of what I wanted her to wear to her violin competition on Saturday. Yes, I lose sleep over little things like this...It's like I have a disease where I think of unimportant things and lose sleep over them. I guess because my mind is so busy during the day. At night is when it's winding down thinking of things. I do get some great ideas, if I could only remember them in the morning.
I wanted her to wear a black dress with big music note bows on her shoulders.
This is how it turned out!

Because she was competing in a group, I wanted them all to match so I offered to make all the girls dresses.(please remind me I don't have time for this next time.)
I'm not sure if their mom's thought I was weird when I showed up with pillowcases. But hey, I thought they looked cute!

I thought that I would be able to whip 3 dresses up in a few hours. (mind you I don't sew) but they looked so easy. I just assumed I could. They ended up taking longer than I thought and leave it to me to wait until the last minute. Thank God for my grandma and faith's help. My grandma stayed up till 1am with me sewing them. Thank you grandma!!!
The girls played in a trio quartet (I think that's what it's called) Each girl played a different piece of music and together it sounded beautiful and of course the dresses helped with their score. You got to look the part right?
They got 3rd place in the Chamber competition. Way to go girls!!

Faith wore her dress the other day as a shirt with jeans under and took the music bows out and put pink bows in for a casual look. Every girl needs a little black < Pillowcase dress >

I found some really cute vintage pillowcases so I am going to try and make
Farrah and Finley some pillowcase dresses out of them.
Let's hope I don't have to call grandma over again.

But What About Prom????

This is referring to the Q&A about if my kids will homeschool through high school. I said that if it's the Lords will we plan on homeschooling them all the way through. I got an email about that comment and it read:
Are you afraid your kids will be missing out on things like prom?

Prom? No, I am more worried about teaching things like calculus(which I won't attempt to even try) thank God we have co-ops for stuff like this.
Please don't feel sorry for my kids they will in no way miss out on fun stuff like proms.
Prom...seriously do you even remember prom? No, I didn't think so...I rest my case ha!
I can't believe some parents reasons for sending their kids to school. They think so much about having their kids go to school to be popular. To be a cheerleader or star of the football team etc. Those just aren't on my priority list for my kids. Making sure my kids are loving God with all their heart is 1st on the list and if they happen to be "cool" then that's just a bonus.
God has bigger plans than prom I'm sure:)

Adoption.....

We all know I love kids......
I've received some emails asking if we would consider adoption.
Adoption is something we are definitely praying about.
God is opening up our hearts to adoption now more than ever before.

I really love this quote:
I know God won't give me anything I can't handle.
I just wish he didn't trust me so much
Mother Teresa
I can't wait to see what God has in store for our family!

Someone also sent me these verses:)

And whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me.
--- Matthew 18:5
God sets the lonely in families.
--- Psalm 68:6

I would love to hear a little bit about your adoption story. How did you go about the process etc. If you have a link to your blog please leave it so I can read your adoption story. You can also email me at carlsbadryan@aol.com
