Busy, Busy, Busy!

Well it's Friday and I'm suppose to have a new kid by today according to Dr. Kevin Leman's book. I'll let you all know how that goes.

We did our part yesterday for Earth day...

cleaned up the beaches...
We learned about the Ozone layer and storm drains.

We have about 5 weeks left of school. I'm not sure if we will school through the Summer or not. How many of you take a break? We are always learning but I think we might take a break from normal curriculum. I'm proud of the kids and how they are doing in school. Faith has been doing very well with division and Austin basically teaches me Math. They are both ready to move on to the next grade. Landen is working on reading and is getting ready for Kindergarten. (any suggestions on K curriculum?) and Farrah has mastered the potty! Finally!

We are finishing up by doing unit studies on New Zealand and Australia. So the kids have been talking in Australian slang all week. Kinda fun!

Farrah has been enjoying playing with her new birthday toys. Especially her lip gloss and stickers.
She must apply that lip gloss at least 1,000 times a day!

and a couple times on Finley throughout the day as well......

ok, sis one more time!

These two are 15 months apart and are best friends, but they do fight!

As you can tell....

They are both sporting matching shiners!

We have also been sporting these helmets all week....as we have rode a total of 18miles this week.

They sure keep me busy!

Such cute pictures. I never get enough pictures of your adorable family.

Homeschool: We don't take a break during summer, because we take too many breaks throughout the rest of the year (like our trips back to Cali to visit family.) Also, the kids kind of like the routine of school, so we do year round.

Kindergarten curriculum: My son just turned 6 and as a homeschooler, I kind of started him at 5 kind of didn't. So not he is kind of ready for 1st grade kind of not :)
I am going to do Math U See for him starting in May. I have heard great things about it. Especially for the younger kiddos. For Reading I am doing the book "Teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons". We will pick a language arts at the Oklahoma City conference, since I have not made up my mind yet.

I have a mom at church that is giving me a book by this author I'm pretty sure. Her son acted exactly like my Landen is acting right now. I think I have four parenting and discipline books right now. Nothing seems to work with him. Let me know how you like the book. :)

Faith looks all tuckered out! Great pictures, Bridget.

We usually break during the summer, but this year Gillian will learn all 50 states and their capitals, and basic US geography since we didn't get to that this year at all. We're going to AL in June, so seeing some new states will make it interesting!

BTW, I am holding your laptop hostage... :-)

Hi! I just found your blog while reading some of the comments to McMamas home school post.

We are a home school family too. One of my favorite parts of home schooling (and I have SO many) are the field trips to anywhere we please.

I love that you are on a never-ending field trip and learning as you go! Awesome!
