Day 1 Of Our Adventure

We left sunny California

last Tuesday......

and drove......(this picture cracks me up) ate chili and cornbread on our way to...

Arizona.......(we plan to stop and do pictures by each sign)

then stopped in Tombstone......(the town to tough to die)

showing some respect at

the Boothill Cemetery.

We read up on the history of Tombstone on the way out too......

Where the famous gunfight took place.

We showed the kids this sign and about 20min later

Faith said with a worried look on her face, "Mom is that true about the slaves?" wonder they were all being so well behaved:)

even Maggie behaved.

I have a lot of blogging to catch up on but the captain is

complaining I need to turn the generator off...whatever!haha!

We are leaving.........

Monday. Like in 4 days Monday.....(someone pinch me)

We have been busy doing so much before we leave...but the hardest is the goodbyes.

my emotions are going up and down....

(we met with the cousins for some fun before we leave)

it's going to be crazy...

but tons of fun too......

I can't wait....

but with the Holidays coming....

it's making it even harder.....

Tomorrow we are having a going away party. To be honest I didn't want one because I hate goodbyes...but I'm trying to look at it as a bunch of well wishes and lot’s of prayers coming our way……not goodbye!

I will be blogging our journey....So hang on and enjoy the ride!

Enjoy seeing America through our eyes....

We are going to miss our friends and family SO much! As exciting as this is for us, I can't help but be over come with the sadness of leaving. We are thankful to all of you who are praying for us. We know this may not be a dream you can understand but this is something we only dreamed about. Never thought it would actually happen. For God to place it on both my husband and my heart at the same time. We know it was God. God has opened such an incredible door for us. We thought maybe we would take this path when we retired (someday) but are excited to be taking it (now)with our children. They grow so fast and we want to make the most of this season. We will be back soon(July) Lord willing and will have tons of wonderful memories to share with you. I am excited to be US missionaries;) But worried of the "what ifs." I guess "what ifs" are here at home too. None of us are guaranteed anything right? I know God has some awesome things planned for us... I pray we can shine our light of God's love and His Greatness throughout the United States.
We are totally trusting in Him...

p.s. Please pray for me, this will be my first Thanksgiving cooking a Turkey (actually pray for my family who has to eat it)
They sure are going to miss their Grandma's cooking;(

Dancing With The Stars Nerds

Q & A

I guess it's that time again......

for you to ask me questions and I will post answers to them.

Here's one for you...
Is this a hug or a choke hold?

Curious minds want to know things like, "are you really going to sleep in walmart parking lots?" haha..ask away!
I am sorry if I haven't emailed you back. I figured I would do a post answering all the questions rather than emailing everyone back. I hope that's ok?
Go ahead...

leave a comment or send me an email (put Q&A in subject)
asking me anything???

Do I Have Them Trained Or What?

Good morning....
I'm sitting here sipping my coffee and eating some scrambled eggs in my pj's. (Because my slave child wonderful son went down to the lobby and got me coffee and breakfast)
Do I have them trained or do I have them trained? ha!
I'm telling you homeschool has more advantages than you think!

I am writing a letter of apology to the Director of Sales who's office is right next door to our room!

Dear Director of Sales,
I am sorry for the yelling you hear all day. Yes, I can switch off my tone of voice very fast. (yelling) KIDS BE QUIET AND DO YOUR WORK....(sweet voice) "oh thank you for the extra towels!"
I am sorry for the over flowing toilet last week when my daughter decided to flush over 10 pairs of socks down the toilet. I am also sorry for the hole in the couch the dog chewed.
Oh, I really do apologise for my 4yr old son hiding behind the curtain with his bare butt smashed up against the window. I couldn't find him and didn't realize he was mooning people outside.
Please tell the other guest we are very sorry.
The constant banging against the walls may sound like I'm beating my kids but it's just them jumping on the bed. (What can I say, they miss their trampoline) The loud music you hear is just my praise music trying to drowned out the kids crying. Also thank you for helping my son get my coffee the other day when he spilled it all over himself and the lobby carpet. He's fine now I had him run down to the local market and get burn cream. I couldn't go down with him, I was blogging.
It's so nice of you to be arranging a go away party for us. Or maybe it's a party for all of you because we are finally leaving!

Checking my email.... (this is real)

from the Director of sales here at the Hotel
Dear Bridget,

As for you and your babies I chuckle sometimes but not to worry I used to have my own childcare so I am used to the sound. We will miss your sweet family. I have to say though I do say a prayer for you everyday!

She's a very busy women she runs 3 hotels here on this street and for her to find time to pray for me everyday must mean I sound like I really need it! LOL(or maybe that isn't so funny)

Do I have them trained or do I have them trained?

Proverbs 22:6
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

“Children do not accidentally become righteous leaders or emotionally healthy and productive adults -– any more than seeds thrown randomly to the wind grow to be part of a thriving garden. Simply throwing children into a cultural tornado and hoping for the best gives them little chance of living up to their potential or coming out unharmed.
Someone needs to take responsibility for their nurture, protection, nourishment, intellectual development, manners, recreation, personal needs, and spiritual development. Someone needs to commit time and energy into staying close to them as they grow, encouraging and correcting and teaching.”
Sally Clarkson

The Clarkson family has helped me stay on track as I train my kids up. I enjoy their books and conferences. Last year I walked away from their weekend from the Whole Heart Ministries conference with a refreshed and new take to homeschooling and family life.

The mission of Whole Heart Ministries is “to encourage and equip Christian
parents to build a biblical home and a godly heritage by nurturing, disciplining
and educating their children at home.” Whole Heart Ministries strives to
serve Christian parents and their children worldwide through ministries of
speaking, teaching, training, writing and publishing that focus on the biblical
and practical aspects of home nurture, home discipleship, and home
education. Our ultimate objective is to come alongside Christian parents to
help them prepare their children to become Christian leaders in the next

I'm not sure which one I will be able to make. I'm sure I will stop off at one of them while on the road. I'm hoping to win 6 free tickets and will be happy to give them away on my blog if I do. It would be fun to meet up with some of you at one of the conferences!

The theme this year is "YOU...Renewed!"

I highly recommend you trying to make it. AWESOME STUFF! (not just for homeschoolers)
