I Did It.....

My first turkey......

ok,I admit it I cheated!
It was a Freezer-to-Oven turkey.
Not even a full grown one it was a baby bird (how sad)
But it was still a turkey and I still had to put it in the oven ha! Just minus all the guts!
It turned out really good and I made all the fix'ins to go along with it. All while trying to balance driving down an interstate with a husband who is just getting use to driving a 38ft diesel+ a toad (I'm learning road talk), 5 kids and a dog hanging all over me. ( I now feel like I can accomplish just about anything!) haha!
I only got a fat lip by opening up a cabinet and getting hit by falling things..but that's all!
By the time we reached New Mexico we stopped and had Thanksgiving dinner!

We threw on the cowboy hats just for fun (we are such nerds)

We got out our long tables and set them up in the coach. We all sat together at one long table.
Faith set the table and made it look pretty. Landen even made a centerpiece out of yarn and the french onion tin can.

He was proud, can you tell?
We watched a movie on William Bradford and read about the 1st Thanksgiving. (while doing more driving)
We had an amazing time as a family giving thanks to the Lord for all he has blessed us with!
It was a Thanksgiving where we missed being with our family but it is a Thanksgiving we will never forget!

We stopped at a truck stop to dump EWWWWWWW!
(I waited till after the food part of the post to bring this up) Gross! I know. I have nothing to do with the poopy part of this trip. Just diapers...(fyi, Farrah is potty training and doing very well telling me when she has to go)
The dump stuff is the boys job and us girls stay inside and hide!
While Austin was outside he picked up a syringe with a needle on it...I about died! He didn't touch the needle part but was playing with it.
This is just a "tiny part" of things that happened the 1st day or 2 on our trip. The pooper got clogged, Maggie (our dog) ran across the highway and almost got hit....and so on... I seriously could write a book. I want to pick up the phone and call my mom and sisters to tell them...can you believe this happened or that happened. All part of the adventure right?
But we are loving every minute of it!

We have created so many amazing memories and we are just a week out! I hope to catch up and share more....and finish the Q&A post too:)

Austin has a bet he will be taller than Great Grandma when we are done traveling...
(we had them stand back to back the day we left)

He's almost there!

Good job on your turkey! I am impressed. Too bad you got injured from a falling object.

How awesome that you can cook while driving! I am so excited, because we plan on renting an RV for our next trip to MO and it will be great to make all our meals while on the road.

PS: You and Faith make cute cowgirls. I think you two would have no problem fitting in with the TX locals.

You are holding that turkey up high cause it looks like the top is burned.

I think Aven might be taller than Grandma by the time you get back. haha jk

Can't believe you cooked a turkey in the RV - while driving down the road! You are one BRAVE girl!!! I on the other hand haven't figured out how to get our oven to cook evenly in our camper so we drove nearly 4 hours to spend the holiday with family- I know, I'm a wimp.Ha! Love your pics and reading about your adventures! Blessings to you on your journey!:)

Listen, cooking a turkey in a Christmas Vacation-mobile is NO small feat.

I'm just sayin'. Be proud of yourself missy, be very proud.

Now, WHEN are you coming to see us?
