Home Sweet Home

We are in North Carolina on our way to Biltmore. I am told Biltmore at Christmas time will give a new meaning to "Deck the Halls".
I can't wait!
I am loving the south and all these beautiful houses.
We saw some really pretty plantations yesterday.
We just got back from my cousins house in Georgia. It's an adorable home on a lake. Let's just say our mortgage was about 7x as much! I about died when she told me what they pay!
California is so high!!!!!

I love California,but geesh!

I thought I'd share a few pictures of our new cozy little home on wheels....

These pictures were taken before we decorated. We now have a tree up and stockings hung. Good smelling pine cones and candles.......

It hasn't felt like Christmas, maybe because we aren't home.

Now that we decked our little hall.......It's starting to feel like Christmas!

We are decorating our tree tonight too. All homemade ornaments (things that have kept the kids busy while driving)
We didn't bring any of our Christmas decor...so we are making everything. You know, popcorn on the tree and all:)
They are also decorating their stockings.

I can't believe it's only 10 days till Christmas!!!!!!!!!

Happy Birthday Jesus!

p.s. the kids have discovered a new sport called "road surfing"

It's where they stand up and try to balance as we drive down the highway. Safe, I know!

Just as I said, "you guys y'all better stop before someone gets hurt."

Faith screams, "Mommy Landen's bleeding everywhere!"

Austin is crying!

Sure enough blood everywhere! Landen split his head pretty good on the corner of the drawer.

It was about this time last year he split his head open. I watched the doctor glue his head shut last time so I figured I would just glue it shut myself.

After rinsing all the blood off, and getting a little light headed myself...we decided after looking at the size of the wound we should take him to the ER.

Sure enough he needed staples.

We stopped at a hospital in a small town in South Carolina. Where the nurses thought Landen was the cutest thing ever. One nurse said he looked like a little Heath Ledger. Landen enjoyed all the attention and even flexed for the nurse as she took his blood pressure. They weren't busy at all and we got in and out of the hospital in less than an hour! Staples, a lesson and all. The doctor was really nice and explained to the kids the history of staples and how it came from Ancient Egyptians. They would use live beetles and place them at the edges of the wound, which then they would clamp shut with their pincers. Then they would rip off the beetles bodies, leaving the jaws in place.

Now, I just need to find a place to get the staples removed in 7-10 days.....somewhere....down the road.........

See, everywhere we go is a learning experience!

Sounds like ya'll are having quite the adventure! I love the Biltmore...I hope you enjoy it! We used to live in NC so we visited it...it pretty amazing!

We discovered a little secret(at least I think it's a secret!) about tickets for the Biltmore. You can buy your tickets after 3:00pm ish...and then they are good for the following day. That means you can explore for a few hours then and the next day...saves money! Just thought I'd pass that info along! :) Not sure if it still works like that...but hopefully!

I love the Biltmore House.... especially at Christmas time. If you get the time, go to the Grove Park Inn and see the ginger bread houses. It is a must see (the Grove Park AND the houses). They are both phenomenal. The ginger bread houses are always featured on TV this time of year and Good Morning America always does a show from there in December. We are in Raleigh, center of the state. The Governor's Mansion is great to see here. Let me know if you come to this part of the state.
