Down At The Twist And Shout!

Saturday night and the moon is out

I wanna head on over to the Twist and Shout (and that's what we did! We ate at the same place the Duggars did on their roadtrip.Ha! They had great Cajun food, music and dancing)

Find a two-step partner and a Cajun beat
When it lifts me up I'm gonna find my feet
(Landen put on quite the show with the lady in shorts!)

Out in the middle of a big dance floor
When I hear that fiddle wanna beg for more
Gonna dance to a band from a-Lou'sian' tonight (this song was playing as they were dancing!)

Well I never have wandered down to New Orleans
Never have drifted down a bayou stream

But I heard that music on the radio
And I swore some day I was gonna go
Down Highway 10 past Lafayette

(this was taken on the 10fwy. So pretty. Flat! No mountains anywhere.)

To Baton Rouge and I won't forget
To send you a card with my regrets
'Cause I'm never gonna come back home (don't worry Grandma we will)

They got a alligator stew and a crawfish pie(the kids loved alligator)
A gulf storm blowin' into town tonight
(houses still left like this from Katrina)

Livin on the delta's quite a show
They got hurricane parties every time it blows

And here up north it's a cold cold rain (us California kids aren't use to this cold of weather!)

And there ain't no cure for my blues today
Except when the paper says: Beausoleil is coming into town
Baby let's go down (Finley loves all the Christmas decor!)

bring your mama, bring your papa, bring your sister too
They got lots of music and lots of room (we went on a beautiful nature hike and no one got eaten by alligator! Only one kid fell into a poison ivy bush.)

When they play you a waltz from 1910
You gonna feel a little bit young again (excuse our "road look" we have been driving all day!)

Well you learned to dance with your rock'n'roll
You learned to swing with a do-si-do

But you learn to love at the fais-so-do
When you hear a little Jolie Blon

Saturday night and the moon is out
I wanna head on over to the Twist and Shout

That song pretty much sums up our trip to Louisiana!

Next stop:
Mississippi!

That is just so neat!! I could only imagine how in awe you all are with God's creation. Now the Creation Museum where the Duggars went would be a great place to stop too:)

At this rate you're going to make it through the Lower 48 by Spring Break. You know ... you could slow down and just rest up a bit.

Can't wait to hear where you plan to spend Christmas.

mama of many :)
