SAVE THE WHALES! SAVE THE RAINFORESTS! KILL THE BABIES?

I know I have been "re-posting" a lot lately. I'm just recycling blog posts:) My part in celebrating Earth Day. Not really, we are going to a beach clean up today. Learning about storm drains and eating at Subway for lunch. Enjoying their new Sun Chips in bags that are the world's first 100% compostable chip bag. According to the packaging, the bag breaks down completely when placed in a hot, active home or industrial compost pile.

Since the kids don't have a big pregnant belly to paint this year we will be doing another craft made from recycled material. I'm not sure what yet, maybe something with shells and recycled juice boxes? I'll google something.

I know I've shared this every Earth Day since ...but I love this picture.
This was Crazy Farrah in my belly. I remember her moving all around as Justin took this picture:)
The kids did a great job in painting Mama's big belly that year.
But this post came to mind and I thought I'd share it again. This was one of my Earth Day posts last year.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The kids are taking their SAT tests at a school in Claremont (which is a hippie type city) If you live anywhere near this city you know what I'm talking about. (The city I used to get the look of death as I drove my Hummer through it) I love Claremont though. If I could afford to live in this city I might. I love the old town charm and the shopping (especially the downtown shopping) but it seems like it's where all the liberals unite. As I was driving I couldn't help but notice the car in front of me with all the bumper stickers. Austin was sitting in the front and we started reading them. I have to admit some were funny. Let's see if I can remember them:
Make Coffee Not War

Squeeze Me I'm Organic

Be nice to your mother

Keep The Planet Clean it's not Uranus

We all live downstream

Meat is Murder

Save The Whales

Save The Rainforest

some peace signs and then one in bright red said" Keep Abortion Legal"
What the heck!!!!!!
Our laughing stopped! Was she serious? Meat is murder. Save the rainforest, save the whales, save this, save that but kill the babies????

I was tempted to pull alongside the car and get a good look at this crazy lady. What kind of person, I wondered, could seriously maintain that "meat is murder" but abortion isn't? Or that wearing fur is a "crime", and killing an unborn child is a "choice"?
What was she seriously protesting? How could this crazy driver possibly defend scalding a child to death in a saline solution, or tearing it to pieces with a vacuum pump, or cutting it up alive?

Or maybe the crazy tree hugger was objecting to waste? It is a favorite argument of environmentalists that the destruction of the rainforests is going to mean the extinction of a wide variety of plant and animal life that could one day be of value to humankind. But if that argument is valid for trees, or for endangered species, it is even more true of human beings. Who knows but that a child who was aborted today might have found the cure for cancer. We are killing off a whole generation of people.
Or was this mother nature freak taking a stand for choice? Did she believe that a woman has an absolute right to choose whether to carry a child to term or not, and society had no right to interfere with that choice? I guess that would explain her sticker that read, "keep your laws out of my uterus." Well, if society has no right to condemn a woman's choice to extinguish the life of her unborn child, then what right could society possibly have to condemn that woman or anyone else for that matter from eating meat or wearing fur? Aren't these "choices" as well? And isn't human life of greater value than animal!!!!!!

I've argued this with many college students. This whole "vegan" "going green" trend, ok cool, but then their for abortion???? Makes NO SENSE TO ME!
Don't get me wrong I believe we need to take care of our Earth that God made not "some mother" I reuse, I recycle, I am know to pick up litter but I also take a stand for saving innocent babies too!

We are so concerned with protecting our rights, preserving endangered species, saving the environment and economy, we forget about those who don’t yet have a voice to speak out. We need to stand up for this. Many say they are Pro-Life but your not unless you are Pro-active!
And the money that is involved!!!!!!
Abortion is a big business.
So how much are these abortion mills making? Actually abortions really aren't that expensive. You can kill your baby for a couple hundred dollars. The older the baby is the more it costs (harder to murder) This money factor is usually kept quiet. The financial aspect is even more interesting when you see what Planned Parenthood get's payed per abortion by tax payer money. About $8,ooo!!! More than I payed for prenatal care for my pregnancy! The abortionist made more than my doctor in less than 10 minutes than my doctor made in 9 months! Planned Parenthood received $272.2 million dollars in taxpayer money under Title X (heathcare) and an additional report for the year earnings of more than $882 million. That money sure could help save some whales don't you think?.....

ABORTION IS GREEN????????? WHAT???????????????
Wanna hear what the government's green guru had to say???????

(I would love to have lunch with Jonathon!!! and ALL my kids!!!! What a conversation we would have!)

COUPLES who have more than two children are being “irresponsible” by creating an unbearable burden on the environment, the government’s green adviser has warned.

Jonathon Porritt, who chairs the government’s Sustainable Development Commission, says curbing population growth through contraception and abortion must be at the heart of policies to fight global warming. He says political leaders and green campaigners should stop dodging the issue of environmental harm caused by an expanding population.

“I am unapologetic about asking people to connect up their own responsibility for their total environmental footprint and how they decide to procreate and how many children they think are appropriate,” Porritt said.
Porritt, a former chairman of the Green party, says the government must improve family planning, even if it means shifting money from curing illness to increasing contraception and abortion.

If I still had my Hummer, I'd load the whole thing up with all kinds of Pro-Life stickers and parade it through Claremont with all my kids hanging out the windows! I'd love to see the looks:)

We live in an insane world. The Bible says that children are a blessing. Too bad "the world" is not reading and living by their Bibles!!

How far the moral compass in the world has swung. Good is bad and bad is good. It's okay to study every religion in the school system EXCEPT chrisianity. The world has gone mad! Woe be to him who is not saved in the last days. They are upon us!

It is insane that we have made the environment our "god" and view children not as a blessing, but rather a burden on the environment. People just buy the pithy sayings and have completely suspended rathional thinking. I find it bizzare that I have three children and will soon be adding a fourth child and it occurs to me that my family will be viewed as a large family and my husband and I probably considered irresponsible! We learnt from a pregnancy crisis ministry that the most common reason women choose abortion rather than making an adoption plan is because they cannot bear to give up their child for adoption. However, they do not give much thought to having their unborn baby cut up in the womb. That is the more humane choice?

Obviously those people don't know the Lord and are living of the worldly ways. As bad as I hate to say it, no matter how hard we fight to stop abortion, it won't ever stop. BUT one great day, when the Lord returns and the world ends, those people who had abortions and who performed the abortion will have to answer to God about the murder of those innocent babies who are now in Heaven.

This world is cruel and people have no idea whats about to happen.. people need the Lord.

Reminds me of the song by Casting Crowns called, "While you Were Sleeping."
Excerpt from the lyrics:

"United States of America
Looks like another silent night
As we're sung to sleep by philosophies
That save the trees and kill the children
And while we're lying in the dark
There's a shout heard 'cross the eastern sky
For the Bridegroom has returned
And has carried His bride away in the night

America, what will we miss while we are sleeping
Will Jesus come again
And leave us slumbering where we lay
America, will we go down in history
As a nation with no room for its King
Will we be sleeping
Will we be sleeping

United States of America
Looks like another silent night"

Our nation needs to wake up, before it's too late. Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Okay so I was telling my husband the other day almost this EXACT same thing and was planning on blogging about it..to slow. You would think that if one was a vegetarian that would mean they are super considerate to all of godas creatures..they won't eat anything with a face but they'll kill babies..WHAT??? Oh and Claremont is VERY Liberal and I think you should rent a hummer, load it up with all your kids and plaster it with bumper stickers that say.. I EAT animals and SAVE babies!ha ha

I have always wondered the same thing. I have a vegan friend who is as liberal as can be and is pro-choice. I am a hard core REPUBLICAN and proud of that fact, but it is so hard to be in college and be outnumbered by the warped liberal minds of my peers and professors. It sucks!!! The world is just messed up. So many people would love to adopt a little baby because they can't have their own. It makes me ill to think that any one of those babies could have had a loving home =(. BTW, just found out there is an abortion clinic that I drive by every single day on my way to class. Disgusting.

*clapping wildly*

I've often wondered the very same thing. Anymore, what's good is bad and what's bad is good. Keep fighting the fight - sounds like many of us are right there with you.

Vegan for 9 years, have never had and abortion, love babies...etc. Consider reversing your point. If someone has so much value for God's human creations, is it not hypocritical to slaughter, eat or wear God's animal creations? Is it not arrogant to believe that a feeding oneself is worth murdering others? Because they are animals it is not murder, their lives don't count? If you remember...God gave Adam and Eve all the GARDEN to live off. It wasn't until the FALL, until they sought the knowledge of good and evil, that He allowed eating the flesh of animals. In God's perfect utopia, we ate the fruit of the garden of eden. I do not believe in abortion. I do believe some vegans/environmentalist can become so blinded by their cause that they forget about human compassion. Animal and human we are God's creations. Disregarding the value of one OR the other is hypocritical on both fronts. Just my friendly two cents. Consider reading the book Ishmael by Daniel Quinn, has some interesting views on the treatment of animals and our earth. Peace!

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you for not having an abortion and Bridget will not revise her comment because she is "commenting" on the knucklehead who shares the two bumper stickers....."meat is murder" and " Keep Abortion Legal".....pllllleeeeeeaaaaaazzzzzzeeeeeee!

Love this post Bridget! I give 10 thumbs up!!! Yep you're right it's ridiculous how our world's thoughts are basically upside down. And yes it's shocking to understand it but "true" green/enviromentalists believe in having only a few children. (but most won't actually say that) *gasp* oops I just let the cat out of the bag. I took a biology class and my teacher was just that and even said exactly that. It's so sad!

Amen! I have found that many larger families are greener than the ones with one or none. Those of us with more kiddos often live in smaller homes, garden and can our food, and teach our children to be good stewards of the earth. People who back up abortion are just selfish and not thinking. That planned parenthood info was news to me. That is disgusting.
BLessings,
Dawn

Amen. Preach it, sister. Stick it to 'em.

You have a fabulous family. With your 5 and my 5 girls we could make quite a stink in Claremont.

Wow ... guess my family has REALLY messed up the planet. Oh. So. Sorry. (LOL)

Love Claremont, though ... despite the liberal wackos. My mom, aunt, brother, and cousin all attended Pomona College in Claremont. When my brother was there, I would go spend my spring breaks with him and his friends. Yes ... a nice town in the midst of the craziness of L.A.

Totally can picture you driving a hummer through town with all of your kids hangin' out the window. Too funny!

Hope you're enjoying the beach.

I totally agree that having a large family does not have to exclude going "green" or being environmentally conscious. I think that a lot of larger families HAVE to be thinking more about the environment. Who knows more about hand-me-downs and buying in bulk and making do or doing without than those large families out there? Besides, we want a wonderful world for our babies to grow up in. The "environmentalists" make a choice to go out of their way to save the planet. Large families LIVE this daily, often from necessity.
