Flashback Friday

This is Faith on Easter 2007. We were hoping Farrah would be born before Easter. That was her Easter dress just in case she decided to arrive early. Faith was so excited to have a sister and couldn't wait for her arrival. You can tell she is sad that she didn't come in time to wear her cute little matching dress. Farrah came 5 days later. I remember running (yes running) on the treadmill that Easter trying to go into labor.
This year Farrah's 2nd birthday lands on Easter. We are planning a big Party the Saturday before Easter. With a big Easter egg hunt (we have about a 1/2 acre lot to have the kids run around and hunt for eggs) and a visit from the Easter bunny (if I can get my husband to dress up (lol) Remember I got him to wear the Incredible costume for Halloween the bunny costume should be a breeze. HA! If not I will find someone to dress up. We will have the Easter bunny there!!! We also have a friend that owns a lot of real bunnies that she is going to let us borrow to run around while the kids hunt for eggs. (I told you I was extreme and make everything complicated) Any of our friends that live in the area email me at carlsbadryan@aol.com and I will give you information. Your all invited! It should be a fun day for the kids and a great day for parents to get some good pictures:)
P.S. Thank you to everyone who is participating in the Valentine Exchange. It felt like Christmas at our house this morning as my kids ran to the mail box and opened all sorts of envelopes filled with such creative cards and prizes!!!! How fun is this!!!! If you haven't received ours yet you should get them tomorrow:)

The Car's Packed With Kids and......

Yesterday was pet day and Valentines parties at the park with our homeschool group. After packing some lunch and all the kids Valentines my husband called me and I answered the phone saying," Can I call you back I am busy trying to get , 5 kids, a 60lb tortoise, 1 turtle, and 1 bearded dragon in the car(we left the hamster and fish at home) He, just started laughing and said...only my wife. haha!
We got to the park and Austin showed off all his reptiles:
Did I mention I had to carry the 60lb tortoise??? I begged Austin if we could just bring a picture of him but no, he wouldn't go for that. JD was a big hit!!! All the kids loved him.
I guess the mom who took this picture thought it was pretty funny watching me try to get JD out! (What I will do for my kids, I sure hope they appreciate me!)

Then after park day we headed to Home Depot to get the rest of our supplies. We are working on two projects in our backyard.


We are finishing our chicken coop and pond.
I guess I didn't think I had enough pets in the car because we went and picked up our little hen on the way home!
On the way home I had, 5 kids, 1tortoise,1bearded dragon,1 turtle, and 1 chicken!


I know what your thinking, next we will see Bridget with braids and a long prairie skirt. What can I say,I'm a Texas girl at heart. Can you tell I grew up on Little House on The Prairie? Now Faith and I are into Anne of Green Gables. (We like to pretend anyway)


We have our garden going, our pond..and now we are raising chickens! We have been googling like crazy because (us city folks) don't have a clue what we are doing. (Any advice from my farm friends would be greatly appreciated.)

Now you may be asking yourself, why would I want to raise chickens. Well, one good reason is that they lay eggs. The kids love it. It's almost like they get little surprise everyday! Scrambled eggs our house Saturday Morning!



One problem...the kids can't decide on a name for her..any suggestions???? I'm thinking Fran maybe Frances (what??? I like F names)

Red Hot!

I had the flu today and just layed around while the kids ran wild. Austin and Faith did a great job in helping me watch the three younger ones. I started to feel better towards the end of the night. Farrah came up to me and wanted to snuggle in bed with me. So I was playing with her hair (which she loves) I then decided I would try and french braid it. She has always had a good head of hair. I could of done a french braid at 5 months if I wanted. Ok, maybe not a french braid but her first pigtails were at 3wks. I'm not kidding! She was born with a thick mop (but I love it) Poor Finley is bald now. But we have tons of cute hats and headbands for her:) Anyway, after french braiding her hair for the first time I layed in bed and painted her nails. She loves getting pretty. She kept saying, "I pwetty!, I pwetty!" After just enough time to let her hands and feet dry she jumped off the bed and went to play in the playroom. A couple minutes later I got up and found her in the playroom like this......




I guess she felt she needed some red hot lipstick
marker to go with her red hot nails.


Now, how could I get mad at that face???

She got a little carried away with the lipstick marker and used it all over the table too.
I love her cute little sausage toes though! I normally wouldn't let her wear red nail polish but it's all I could find in the downstairs bathroom. I wasn't about to go upstair. I was so weak, I'm lucky I had the energy to even paint. I know you like her nice matching PJ's. You think that's bad you should of seen what Landen had on! (Today was momstoosicktocare day!)

We will now be putting the markers up even higher. She took a basket and turned it upside down to stand on so she could reach her (make-up) I'm sure she was just trying to look pretty for when daddy came home.

He's On A Mission

Austin has been busy working on his mission to prove Darwin wrong. Yesterday he got even more science books on creation vs. evolution. 18 video's and 20 or something books. He got to talk to Ken Ham at our church from the creation museum Now he's pumped!

I'm Back...

and it feels so good to be loved. When I walked through the front door all the kids were sitting (right in front of the door) Indian style just waiting for me. They all jumped up to give me hugs...(I was only gone 1 night) Landen walked up to me with a big smile and a confused look. I bent down to give him a kiss and he said, "Mommy, you have another baby?" Poor kid! Every time I leave it's because I am going to the hospital to have another baby.
I was happy to see the house was still standing and I am proud to say that my husband did a great job. I was expecting to walk in and my husband be on the PlayStation and the kids running wild painting the walls. Nope! The house was actually clean! He even had Farrah's hair done in a ponytail. Go Daddy!
I had a wonderful time. It was relaxing and refreshing. I learned so much and am now a new women haha! I have a ton of new books to read (just need to find the time)and so many new and fun ideas that I can't wait to share with you.

Would You Like Rolls With That?

Last night I was getting dinner ready. I popped it in the oven then forgot all about it...

Would any one like some rolls to go along with Bridget's famous burnt meatloaf?

So this morning I made it up to them.
It's amazing what some strawberries and a little whip cream will do.
I was told over and over how I'm the best mom! Maybe I will add whip cream to my meatloaf??



I leave tomorrow morning with some friends. I call them my (homeschool hotties) They don't wear praire skirts either. We are going to The Whole Hearted Mother's Conference in Irvine. I can't wait! They are amazing women of God and I'm so blessed they continue to put up with me. We got a hotel and are planning to spend some fun time without our kids for once. I will miss them but I'm sure this Conference will refreshing. The theme this year is Smiling at the Future with Faith and Building Your Heart and Home on Solid Foundations. See you Monday! A Beautiful Day....

It was a beautiful day to visit The Arboretum. We have never been there but will now make it a spot to visit again soon. I plan to take the kids back and just do school there one day. If you live in the area it's a must. The kids love to just run around and look at all the different trees, flowers and animals. It's a huge place so they can run wild and explore. It's great for nature walks and you can get some learning in too. We enjoyed a wonderful day full of nature. Thank you Sarah for inviting us:) We all had a blast!

Farrah loved it in there. I had to climb in and drag her out. (made for a cute pic though)


Kids were getting tired of walking so they all climbed on the stroller...Who needs a gym pass?
