"It takes a strong family to combat this village that's trying to raise my child"

Education involves not only what you teach your child, but what you keep them from learning as well. If I am trying to teach my child addition at home and he is learning that 1 + 1 = 3 at another place, then I am accomplishing nothing. If I am trying to teach my child to act like Jesus at home and he is learning not to act like Jesus elsewhere, then I am a failure. Parents are responsible to keep evil influences away from their children. Everything your child hears and sees plays a role in the development of their character, and as long as they live under your roof, you are ultimately responsible for their training and education.

It's not easy!

Trust me!

Don’t squander the eternal souls of your children for the temporary crumbs of this world. Your children are your only possessions from this world that you can take to heaven with you.

That is why I am willing to invest all my time and energy into these kids.
I took some of this from this article.

Great reminder as we are in full swing after Christmas break.

Happy Homeschooling!

Hi Bridget!! It's Crystal Vogel...I occasionally take a peek at your blog and I just love it!! I just need to tell you how much this post spoke to my heart. I have been debating for sometime about homeschooling...everything in me was fighting it:) I would pray about the future of my kids schooling and give it to the Lord and I never really felt that peace, until yesterday when I read your post. Thank you so much for confirming to me what the Lord has been trying to tell me. I want to teach my kids to live for Jesus and I don't want to have to battle back and forth and possibly loose them the world. May the Lord continue to use you thru this blog...you are doing a mighty work in Him and I'm so grateful for you!! By the way congrats on baby #6...Every good and perfect gift comes from the Father above!!!

THANK YOU! I really needed to read that today. It is such a blessing to be able to teach my children at home!

And, as a long-time reader: I am so happy for your new pregnancy! Praise the Lord! I look forward to reading about your pregnancy and this new little one....

I love it! I often try to walk that line between compassion for those who truly can't rearrange their situation to allow homeschooling and speaking out strongly enough about the benefits of homeschool.
4 years of homeschooling and counting! Each day is a gift from God!

Congrats on baby #6! I just had baby #4, a girl. In fact I emailed you about a year ago I guess, on the topic of having more, glad I got my wish! Anyway, I would love to know how you do projects and fun type things at home while having a baby and the toddlers around. I always feel like my older ones (5 and 3) are running around crazy because they're bored but I don't know what kind of stuff to do with them because of my 2 yr old getting into everything and then also having my newborn.
