I Just Love This Age

Farrah is at such a fun age. She is 17 months old now. As soon as Finley was born she just looked so grown up to me. She started walking when I was in the hospital having Finley. Now she is talking non-stop and trying to copy everything you say. Her personality has come out in the last few weeks. She is such a character. Her new word is stankay. (stinky) I think she gets her slang from me. When I change her diaper I say, "stankay" pee you! Then she plugs her nose and waves her hand back and forth across her nose. (so funny!)

Another favorite word. BABY She loves babies especially her new baby sister!

She loves dress up too...here she is trying to walk in my heels. Did I mention I just love this age???

1st Day of School

Austin is a big 4th grader


and Faith a big second grader (duh, like you can't see them holding up their fingers)


and Landen is in preschool


Even though Landen goes to preschool 2 days a week he still wants to be apart of our school day at home. I am doing this 52 week curriculum with him. It consits of story time, discussion, crafts, bible verse, snack and prayer. Each week has a different theme.



Even Farrah likes to do school..she was busy putting Cheerios in the holes in her Cheerio book.


We started the day with bible. Talking about change. How life changes, people change. We are going through a lot of change right now with moving and all I thought this would be a good lesson. We talked about how times change. We looked at the different centuries and how much has changed since then. Then we read in Hebrews 13:8
Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.
I told them Everything in life changes, except Jesus' love.
After math, science and spelling came the fun stuff...

We made Time Capsule's. I had them decorate Lay's chip containers. Then they filled out papers on themselves. Their favorite stuff, things that are going on in their lives right now and goals they may have. I had them draw some pictures and put them in there too. We will open them on the last day of school to see how much has changed. How their writing has improved or if their interest have changed.

9 Years, 5 Kids and 10 Moves Later....

Yep,you guessed it... were moving again!


Justin and I feel like the above picture right now. We are starting to pack and I just look at everything and want to put a box over my head and cry or better yet disappear. Maybe when I come back from wherever I disappeared from everything will be done.All the boxes packed and unpacked.
Poof..nope I'm still here!
This is our 10th move in 9 years. Crazy I know! That counts the 3 times we moved in one year while living in San Diego. As much as I hate moving I am excited about the new house.
We will be living on a beautiful tree lined street at the end of a cul-de-sac. Everyone will have their own rooms except the two baby girls will share a nursery. We will also have a pool and a big yard for the kids to play. It's an old house with a lot of charm. It even has a white picket fence. If you know me I like that cottage style. Makes me feel like I live in the country somewhere:) I pray this is our last move for a long time...at least until the kids are grown.

To Whom it May Concern:

This is a letter of reference for Mrs. Bridget Ryan. For three years, I was the principal of a small, private school where Mrs. Ryan's children were enrolled for two of the three years. Mrs. Ryan taught a music/drama class for several months during each of the three years in conjunction with an annual Christmas program. I would give the following assessments to her work with our students.
1. Mrs. Ryan's ability to control the students during lengthy rehearsal sessions was commendable. She did have at least one other teacher in the chapel with her, but her ability to take control and keep control was exceptional.
2. Mrs. Ryan demonstrated wonderful ability to address children of different age groups in order to form them into a cohesive musical unit. She recognized each child's ability and assigned parts appropriately. She was also able to draw out specific skills in many students.
3. Mrs. Ryan was a person of impeccable integrity and wonderful character. Throughout the years that we worked together, she worked with her colleagues without conflict and showed extraordinary patience.
4. The programs that the children produced under her guidance were wonderful, without exception. Parents commented for years after how much they enjoyed the annual Christmas programs at Pacific Christian School. And, year after year, parents and grandparents came in increasing numbers, despite falling enrollment.
In conclusion, if I had the opportunity to hire Mrs. Ryan in a similar role in my school, I would not hesitate to do so. She would be an exceptional addition to any school staff.

Football Season

Go get 'em Austin!


Today was the start of football season. I love watching Austin play! It's so exciting, sometimes the old cheerleader in me takes over. I love to cheer him on(that's my boy). The only thing I hate is some of the boys in this league are BIG and the mom in me has to cover my eyes often. It's tackle football and these boys can hit pretty hard. They are all 4th and 5th graders but they grow 'em big now days. Being that he is one of the smallest on the team kind of scares me too. Austin is quarterback and pretty quick on his feet and as long as the big boys can block for him I don't have to worry too much. This is his third year playing tackle and third year as quarterback. He had some awesome passes today (spiral and all)!

Whatta Ya Know The Sky Is Blue!

I had a family friend come up to me a couple weeks ago to tell me she was concerned about my kids and their lack of socialism. She knows very little about my kids and what they are involed in. She just knows they are homeschooled and assumes they don't get out.
I just had to laugh!
