Take your child on a wonderous road trip across the USA powered by the imagination! CONTEST

I hope you all had a great Labor Day weekend...

We did!
Our family from WA and Northern CA came to visit...
including this lil guy......

Uriah John

6wks.

Remember, I got to be there for his birth while we were in WA!

He's so perfect.

We spent the rest of the weekend house hunting....

I'm a real estate agents nightmare!

I know God has a house out there for us somewhere...

We just can't seem to find it.

I can't believe it's been a year since we moved out of our house on Armsley.

We loved that house, so it's hard because we're looking for something similar.

Last week Farrah started pre-school...
Look how grown up she looks?!

She has the same teacher Landen had.

Her teacher said Farrah was hilarious....
She is not shy (at all)
I can only imagine what she says...

She loves going to school 2 days a week for 2 and 1/2hrs.
Today when I picked her up from school I asked, "What did you learn about today?"
She said with confidence, "Oh, we learned about Jesus and his wife."
huh???haha!

We had a talk on the way home about how Jesus didn't have a wife...
before I knew it she was out cold! Sound asleep in the back of the car.
Pre-school must of wore her out!
Let's see what else happened last week.....
Oh yes, Faith got her teeth pulled but the dentist wouldn't let her take them home.
California Law.
I guess??
So Faith took a picture, she figured these had to be worth some good money.
She's 9 and still believes in the tooth fairy.
I don't have the heart to tell her(yet).
It must be the glitter I sprinkle under the pillow and the floss bows I tie around the money that gets her.
AH!What have I done?
I have to come clean!!!!!

She had to get them pulled to make room. Orthodontics =broke!
Having two kids in braces, we just might never own a home.

Praying the other 3 kids have straight teeth!

Here's something I'm really happy to introduce to you!

The Wright on Time

series of children’s chapter books. There about an RV-living family who travels the USA. (sound familiar?) I figure if you loved reading about us, your kids will LOVE these books. MINE DO!Each book is set in a different state with a different fun and educational theme.

It’s like taking your child on a wonderous road trip across the USA powered by the imagination!

(way cheaper than diesel)

Head on over to order!

Be sure to check out the website for other fun things like coloring pages, flat kids (like flat stanley)games and more!

Did I mention they have lapbooks to go along with each book?

As a way of saying thank you for all your support here on my blog and on our road trip,

Wright On Time is willing to give a set away to one of you.....

The first 3 books to get you started!

Just leave a comment telling me what adventure you liked that the Ryan family went on.

(you just might notice it in one of these books)

Or just leave a comment telling me where in the USA

you would love to take your family and why.

I will announce a winner next week.

Praying I will announce that we found a house too:)

Awesome, my kids would love these books! Our dream is to spend a year roadschooling in about 5 years when the kids will all be old enough to get something out of it but not so old that they don't want to live crammed in an RV with their parents and siblings. I loved all your stops along the way but I particularly liked your trip to the Biltmore and Niagara Falls. So beautiful. Best of luck on the home search, I'll be praying for y'all!

Truthfully it was your living at the beach adventures, just bc we have not had much of a summer here (but for an ultimately great reason!) When our kids get older, we would love to take them adventuring to different states, but since we are on the East Coast, we would probably go up and down that first. It's been amazing following your adventures! And I am so excited to buy these books, although I wish all 50 were out right now...my kids wanted to learn about the states this year, so we are going to go one by one through them all. :)

I would love to go to Maine. I loved all of your adventures but my favorite was your trip to the Biltmore House in NC....

Bridget! Hello friend! I'm wondering about the CA law and Faith's pulled teeth? What the heck? We just had to have Jacob's tooth pulled about 2 weeks ago and we got to take it home?! And about six months ago, Skylar had to have two teeth pulled....same thing? What did they tell you about this law? I'm so curious!

Aw! I found your blog just about 10 post ago! I have had to slowly go bac and read your archives. So, I am still trying to decide what is my favorite.

WE would like to take our Family to Alaska. I used to live there when I was a child. Maybe one day! Meanwhile, all our "traveling" is done along side Beloved's business trips. We would love to hit the road full time for a year and camp.

Happy House Hunting!

Hi Bridget!
I have loved following all your adventures so it would be hard to pick just one! I've always wanted to travel like that with my family. So anywhere is my answer. :-) I also wanted to thank you for stopping by my blog and becoming a follower. I wish you all the best in your house hunt. We are now living in our 7th home! I know what you're going through LOL Have a great day!
Blessings,

Jill

I've enjoyed reading your blog. I'm a bit sad to see you're done with life on the road ;), but I hope you find the perfect home soon!
We are just part-timers, but love our Road Trip Adventures. I'm not sure if we'll make another run this year, but if we do, it will definitely be a tour of the East. (well, until it gets too cold, then we'd head south to find The Old West. ;)

We're studying American History this year, so we're itchin' to see everything from the old french forts, Paul Revere's ride, D.C., NYC, Gettysburg and some of the out of the way historical sites in the south. SO much to fit in...I get excited just thinking of it!

Blessings to you and I hope your house hunt ends soon!

I would love to take my family to the Grand Canyon... of all the amazing things I've seen in my life, that tops them all. Too bad I was 16 and trying to act "cool" and pretending like I hated the whole trip with my family. I spent most of the time in the gift shop, so I really want a do over of the entire trip. I'd love to take the mule ride down to the bottom or whatever.

Loved following along with your travels!

I would love too take the kids to Washington DC. My son is very interested in US History. Thanks so much for taking me on a fun blog ride US tour.

I would love to hit every state & every Jr Ranger program...seems like a dream!

You and your family adventures have inspired us to do the same. We are latter in the dreaming stage and beginning the planning stages. Did you guys have a plan when you started out or did you just wing it? I've never followed someone's personal blog before but somehow I stumbled upon yours and have followed it ever since. I would also love to take our four kids to the national parks for the jr ranger programs (loved the road jackets) and spend time learning together. This book series sounds like a great way to introduce the idea to the kids and to set up in their minds some of the adventures that we too might persue. Good luck in your house hunting

Well, since you mentioned it...I will tell you 2 of my favorite adventures about your road trip...or maybe 3:) I enjoyed reading the post about when you went to New Orleans. I was a little jealous (hehe)...because I knew you were enjoying some good food...and I loved seeing your family dancing and enjoying a whole other culture within our United States. Just seeing your family togetherness and learning about the journey..of not just traveling...but learning...about eachother. I loved hearing how you learned how to live without much...and the trials of keeping a small living quarters clean. And how to withstand the trials of frozen pipes...and traveling in the snow - how you all persevered! I loved the story of you visiting your cousins up North and being able to witness a home birth. That story touched me so much...I knew that being on the other side (watching a birth, instead of giving birth) must have been so breathtaking to soak in the miracle of a new life (without feeling the pains of labor or afterbirth..haha). I loved reading about the real life wrapped up in the adventure of your travels. I know it wasn't all perfect...but I think you got closer the the one is...through all the people you met, experiences you had...and the time spent with your beautiful family. I loved seeing the smiles on the kids faces coming down the water slides..and looking so proud with their bright blue jackets on, and all their patches :D . You inspire me as a mom and you make me want to be a better one. That is why I read your blog...and that is why I am so blessed to call you my friend. I am glad I could share just a glimmer of my outtake...looking in from the outside at your journey. I could only dream of being able to do the same thing some day...but God is into miracles right? You never know. Love you Bridget. PS: - those teeth are gross looking...hahaha!

And then on to CA. We have never been there.

hi there - I love your posts on "dude, your homeschool's showing"!! classic ;-) I also love the post about the "secret wave" that your hubby thinks all other RVers have! ;-) very cute! I have been reading your blog faithfully, as we have 5 kiddos and are putting our house on the market in 2 weeks to "hit the road" for 18 mths-2 years...we are also applying for a full-time ministry staff position to do along the way/when we get back, so we will be visiting lots of friends/family/churches, all that good stuff....I do have lots of questions for you...I will write you an email when I get a chance....We would LOVE those books - we love to read together and those would be a FANTASTIC intro to life on the road and the adventures that lie ahead. We lOVE lapbooking too ;-) Our kids ages are 13, 13 (twin girls will be 13 next week - ha!), 10, 5, 3 (three boy cabooses!) thanks Bridget for your fun writing!

Hi Bridget. I loved your trip to Bryce Canyon where the ranger asked your kids if they have ever gotten a junior ranger badge before. I bet he got such an earful with their answers.

You inspired us to get our first junior ranger badge just after that post. We were in Baltimore visiting family and we took the kids to Fort McHenry where they earned their first junior ranger badge. They were so proud of themselves and wanted to get more.

We will be "selling it all" and taking off for a year around the country come July 1, 2011. We are so excited we can't stand it. I emailed you with a bunch of questions we have. If you have some time can you email us back?

These books look wonderful and will get us so excited to start off on our own adventures.

I have also been enjoying your blog for a few months. Thanks for sharing all of your adventures. It's neat to see how much fun your family has together! Keep it up! I've always wanted to visit Boston, so we decided to take a little road trip in four years. We will begin in Montana, and our destination will be Boston! We are wanting to find a used motor home for our trek across the U.S., so that should be an interesting shopping excursion. :) I thought it would be fun to let the kids each pick a place along the way that is an absolute "must" for them. So, that's what we have planned in a nutshell. Thanks for the give-away. We have a family that loves to read!

Blessings to you,
Jamie

Where would I like to take my family? Well ...

Considering that I just got home tonight from a 9,000 mile Road Trip, I think I'll stay home for a month or two. :)

Seriously ... next summer I think we'll either head to Alaska ... or to the New England States. After this Road Trip that we just finished, we have now been to 41 states. Amazing!

THANK YOU for the heads up on the Junior Ranger program. Our kids did 8 or 9 on this trip, and they LOVED it!!!

LOVE you MUCH! Praying that you will know just where you are to settle ... and then find my sweet hubby a job in the same town. Wouldn't it be fun to be neighbors???

:) :) :)

Those books look great!
I have to tell you, I have been thinking lots of you this past week. We just returned from a little road trip. We live in Illinois. I also homeschool...
We went to Dixon, Il first to see Ronald Reagan's boyhood home. Then while driving in Iowa, we went to Herbert Hoover's homestead. That is where my 2 girls earned their first Jr. Ranger Badge. We then went on to South Dakota to see Mt. Rushmore. The girls ended up earning 5 badges on our trip! The other 3 were from Jewel Cave, the Badlands, and Minute Man Missile.
Just wondering where you got the kid's brown vest that you put their badges and patches on???
Thanks for the inspiration.

Hi Bridgette!
My fav places when you were traveling were your east coast stops since we had yet to get there. Now that we have traveled up the coast, I would like to go back and take a little more time doing it, though I have no desire to do it during the winter like you all did! LOL!
We would love to win these books - maybe they would cover some of the 22 states that we haven't been to yet! :)

These books look awesome! My kids would love them - and me too:-)

I would LOVE to take my kids to the Grand Canyon more than anywhere else. I have always wanted to go and now that I have children and we homeschool the desire has grown even stronger.

Maybe someday. And for now we can always visit in books and dream :-)
