I've shared before about my Christian walk with the Lord. I have been a Christian for a long time but to be honest never really fully surrendered my life to him until a couple years ago. Sadly I missed out on so much! You see we can accept Jesus as our Savior but we must also make Jesus Lord over our life. Our whole life!
I am nobody special by any means. All I know is that I have a willing heart and want to be used for God. I shouldn't even blog, we all know I can't spell worth a darn but I choose to share anyway. I mean if I didn't blog I wouldn't have to put myself out there to be judged right? I've even been told I shouldn't teach my own kids but I honestly believe that God will qualify me if he has called me to a certain task. I was thinking the other day about how God does use people who are nobodies.
Like David for example he may have seemed too small to be a mighty warrior, but he understood the secret to victory in life:
he was totally surrendered to God. He was available for whatever task God might have for him, and he
was bold enough to step forward and ignore those who doubted God’s power and protection. Does God
need great armies or weapons? Does He need anything at all? He does not, but He uses those who are
willing to surrender themselves to His service. Have you come to that point of surrender? Are you willing
to trust Him for whatever plan He might have, knowing that He loves you and that His plans are best?
Even it means living in an RV! ha!
If you would of told me a couple years ago that I would be living in an RV homeschooling my 5 kids I would of died laughing. Me! The girl who can't stand school. The girl who can't stand camping for a weekend. God sure has a sense of humor.
I see the full circle now and how God has prepared our hearts for this. It wasn't that we just woke up one morning and said, "Let's hit the road." God works in seasons and I'm just entering another season in His great plan.
I love this song...
Sometimes Your calling, comes in dream
Sometimes in comes in the Spirit's breeze
You reach for the deepest hope in me
And call out for the things of eternity
But I'm a man, of dust and stains,
You move in me, so I can say
Chorus
Here I am, Lord send me
All of my life, I make an offering,
Here I am, Lord send me
Somehow my story is a part of Your plan,
Here I am
When setbacks and failures, and upset plans
Test my faith and leave me with empty hands

Are You not the closest when it's hardest to stand
I know that You will finish what You began
And these broken parts You will redeem
Become the song that I can sing
Chorus
Overwhelmed by the thought of my weakness
And the fear that I'll fail You in the end
In this mess, I'm just one of the pieces,
I can't put this together but You can
Chorus
Here I Am, all my life an offering to You, to You
Somehow my story is a part of Your plan
Here I am

I like your attitude! I agree that when we don't surrender our lives to the Lord, we miss out on so much. He will accomplish His purposes with our without us, he doesn't need our help. It's a question of whether we are going to be blessed in the process or not. I, for one, am glad you put yourself out there.
Well said. The Word tells us that the eyes of the Lord go to and fro throughout the world to see those whose hearts are loyal to Him. If there are any who seek after Him. I pray also to be one who will simply say, " here I am Lord use me." He also says that "He" who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Christ. It is so good to know that it is all up to Him to complete the work He begins in us. He calls us, as you said to simply surrender and OBEY. I am afraid most of us forget the word obey. I know He has called us to be holy as He is holy and to live a life pleasing to Him. I believe He clearly tells us that as we abide in Him and His words abide in us that we will know His will and be glad to follow in His ways. It is a joy to serve the risen Lord! It is not always easy but it is worth it for the eternal life that awaits those of us who do not grow weary but continue to stand fast in the faith that has been given us in Christ. He will be with you my precious daughter. Let's be like Paul and say "for me to live is Christ and to die is gain"
Bridget,
You absolutely SHOULD blog, because you have such a willing heart, and you are a wonderful testimony! Your blog is such an encouragement to me, as I am sure it is to many.
I think we all often feel inadequate. Like....me, Lord? Are you sure? The fact of the matter is, He will use us if we are surrendered to Him. And He will help us to do what He has asked us to do!
Amen, amen, amen to this whole post!
:) perfect

Great post!
Can't wait to hear more about the "living in an RV for a year". I would LOVE to do that. We've already taken our kids to 36 states on Road Trips ... so we've done a LOT of traveling.
Hey ... if you have any plans to be up in the Pacific NW, we would LOVE to have you come on out to the San Juan Islands in Wa. State. Let me know ...
