Yes, it is! HA. What can I say I'm my Mother's daughter:)
And out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks:)
*gotta love the phones in the hotel bathrooms (AND the free toilet paper)
So yes, I love the Lord and love my husband and kids with all my heart so that is what I seem to talk about the most and what is constantly on my mind.
Therefore that is what I blog mostly about...
I am proud to say that if you know me you know I love Jesus. I don't hide it and I'm sorry if I annoy you when that's what I'm most excited to talk about. And maybe I do blog about Jesus because sadly I can't seem to find enough people around me who have ears that want to hear and who share the same excitement of talking about Him as I do.
On this blog I have found those friends and I love to share and talk with you all:)
Do your neighbors, friends, family, coworkers know that you love Jesus?
Do you like to talk about Him?
Is it a chore to read the bible or spend time with Him?
Or do you love to talk about Him and are hungry for the Word of God and excited to learn more about Him?
I enjoyed reading all your thoughts on Halloween. Thank you all for taking the time to share on the topic. My husband and I spent last night reading through them and looking at the different links.
I love to see so many like minded friends in blogland. I thank you for your words of wisdom and you are truly a blessing to me. I also want to thank some of you for your emails. Some emails were full of questions about me being legalistic. It's not the first time I have been called that.
Let me just say that........
I don't mean to post to get everyone up in a hype. (although I love a good debate and wish someday to have a spot on The View)Ha..
But for now I think this blog is just a great place to share (meet)and discuss what's on MY heart and what MY OWN convictions are. I also think it's a great place to learn from others as you share too.
I am NOT saying that if you don't homeschool you are a bad Christian.
I am NOT saying that if you use birth control you are bad.
I am NOT saying that if you have a tattoo it's a sin.
I am NOT saying that if you wear a bikini etc...(I can't remember all the things that were said) that you are a bad lukewarm Christian.
I am just saying that FOR ME and as I seek God more in my life and read the Bible I AM convicted in these area's. Even things that a year ago I had no clue I ever thought were wrong I see now FOR ME that they were. I agree that in the grey area's we have to deal with as Christians we need to search scripture and our own hearts and pray before making decisions. I PERSONALLY try not to compromise. For example: It's not that having a beer is bad (I)just choose not to and to be honest I don't even care to or am tempted to. If I saw you having a beer I would not judge you. Please know that! I choose to live MY life and raise MY family to glorify God. With this as MY main goal in life I try to test EVERYTHING by "is this glorifying God and is this bringing me closer to Him. Is this helping in raising MY children for His kingdom???
*yes my boys are wearing skeleton shirts. I don't feel convicted by them wearing them. I don't see anything wrong with bones. You might.
I don't let my kids watch certain things, (even Scooby Doo) Not because I think they will grow up to be into witch craft or anything just because I don't see how watching it will help them in their walk with the Lord. I would rather them spend time watching something like a DVD from Wonder Kids or something along those lines...
I don't let my kids listen to secular music not because I think it's all bad I just would rather them listen to songs that are about Jesus or will make their little minds think on good things! I love to see them worship. I thank God for stations like Air1.
For example my son loves to play Guitar Hero so instead of playing that we bought him Guitar Praise. (and NO I don't think you are bad if your child plays Guitar Hero.) I am just saying that in OUR (house, hotel or RV HA) I try my BEST to raise godly children.
I was reading Luke last night and I think a good set of rules to live by are:
Truth before Tradition
Serving before Spending
Loving before Lifestyle
Excepting before Accusing
I really gave all these much thought. They are up on the hotel fridge!
I had to really read over them and really think about what they mean. I think as Christians these are good rules to live by.
and one last thing...
I pray my kids will continue to be excited to talk about Jesus and spend time with Him.
My two oldest (age 8 and 10) have just completed the training of
D2BD
They are excited to get their dog tags in the mail and are up for the DARE and I couldn't be more proud.

Beautiful post Bridget.....
Love you, and love this. :) Your patience and grace is always such an encouragement. Blessings!
Amen! Oh my ... we are so like-minded. Wow! I could write the exact same post (except ... my boys don't wear bones shirts ... but I'm not being legalistic or judging you). :)
My 20 y.o. daughter is a full-time missionary in Argentina. When the topic has come up, my daughter has politely said, "I choose not to drink alcohol." Other full-time missionaries have responded, "Don't be so judgmental." What? She's not being judgmental, she's just stating her conviction. Just as your original Halloween post was not judgmental AT ALL ... you were just stating that you were feeling a little convicted.
I was saddened to see all of the people that felt that they needed to justify their family's choices, in response to your family's choice. You were just asking for everyones thoughts, opinions.
Blessings,
Laurel

Yep, that's what it's all about- the closer you draw to Jesus, the more you become like Him, the more you want to talk about what He's doing in your life, the more you want to share what He's doing, the more He changes you, and the more He uses you! So keep it up- we need more of this- I pray that everyone will become bold for Jesus, but that only happens when the Holy Spirit brings power into our lives. Many people know Jesus, but do not walk in that power. We just share it- let God do the convicting. He will if we let Him- He loves us so much that He will never let us stay the same!
Remember, the more we share, the more others may become encouraged that they can too!
This is why we love you!! God bless.
Excellent, excellent post!! We are so on the same wave length,a nd you said it so graciously! I really love reading your blog! I am glad you are transparent and don't hide what you believe. Your photos are great!
i love to see other moms who are serious about raising godly kids. i am so passionate about parenting, and i sometimes feel so INCREDIBLY alone!!! even with other christians!! i am going to look into the d2b thing for my boys...i have just been praying verses in daniel over them. i want them to purpose in their little hearts starting NOW!!
Love this
I've never heard of D2BD. It looks GREAT. My oldest daughter gave her life to Jesus at a Billy Graham Crusade, in 1990, when she was 5 years old. LOVE that ministry.

Your title reminds me of what people said to me all the time. I was accused of talking peoples ears off about the Lord. I am proud to be accused of that.I pray I will always be known for that. The more you know of Jesus and His word the more you can't help loving Him. He is irresistible! I am so nothing aside from Him. He just expects us to yield our hearts to Him and He will do the rest. Simply fall in love with Him, get to know Him , and spend time with Him in prayer, and in His word, and watch what He will do. Remember what he said " Why do you call me Lord, Lord, and do not do the things I say to do" Luke 6:46. And " If you love me, keep my commandments" John 14:15. May we all be encouraged to know that it is He that has begun a good work in us, and He will complete it. We are to love Him deeply and obey Him no matter the cost! It is worth it.
Oh My Goodness! What a great post. Very well thought out. My Son has his D2BAD tags. I am like minded with you on your post here. Praise God for sisters in Christ who are bold, and raise bold little believers for our loving God and Saviour JESUS!!!!!!
Love,
Nettie
Excellent post, Bridget!
Thank you for not being afraid to stand up for what is right.
My husband and I have noticed that, anymore, if a person has strong convictions and lives by them....people refer to them as legalistic. Not so!
I love this, and I love how you're not afraid to talk about your thoughts/opinions on things!! I have often thought of emailing you to ask you a question or your thought about something. You should do another Q&A post! I love hearing your views on everything, you are very inspiring =)
Beautiful, Bridget!
I have a little something for you over on my blog.. :o)
Beautiful, Bridget!
I have a little something for you over on my blog.. :o)
I come to your blog from Families on the Road. Thank you for this beautiful post. I think you have summed up how one can be Christ like in everyday living extremely well. You spoke with love. Very nicely done.
For my family, 9 children that we homeschool, we are a little more open with the television we watch. I used to be more like you in that as well. As time as gone one I have realized that if I engage in Scooby Doo with them (for example) we can discuss how silly society views the world.
I am a a type A person to the extreme. When I was worried about each tv show I drove myself crazy. I spent so much time creating guidelines. When your children become teenagers don't think they have fallen off the wagon if their desire for different things come about.
Being consistent is the key. I have some beautiful, kind, loving, and knowledgeable teenagers. I look at them and I see children that are heaven bound. They are in the world, they know what is going on, they know what the trends are. They are not of the world at all. It is a nice balance.
You have describe a life of loving God enough to be open to life, and loving those lives enough to protect and guide them. Thank you for the post. Have a Blessed Day.
bridget, a beautiful post! this is EXACTLY why i kept coming back after stumbling upon your blog, you are honest, loving, and so in love with the Lord! thank you for being a sister in Christ and a sweet friend!
Matthew 7:1
“Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye."
Awesome post! I think as we learn more about Jesus and fall deeper in love with Him and in His word daily, those convections start happening. I know for me it is and it's a slow process, but that's what it's about, being less of me and more of Him. So when I look in the mirror I don't see me, I see Him! I love how bold you are, still a working process for me:) God bless.
Amen sister! We all have different things the Lord is pointing out to us, and I feel you about the legalistic comments. Just because my family chooses certain things doesn't mean I think family X is wrong!I am so excited I found your blog.
I love your heart, Bridget. You have nothing to apologize for, or be ashamed about. You are an example and inspiration to so many people ... you just keep on loving Jesus and your hubby and kiddos!
Love you!
Very honest and clear on your convictions, friend! Good job. I know it's tough to put yourself out there, but it was done with class.
As always, homeschoolers have class everywhere ;)
Bridget, it blesses me to see the stand you take for the Lord. I love reading your blog and see your family grow in Jesus. You are beautiful on the inside and out.
For the anonymous who seems to be calling Bridget a hypocrite, I say you are doing exactly what you are accusing her of. You are judging her. To speak the truth about ones convictions is not judging others. We are free to speak the truth in love. Bridget does not think she is perfect, she is simply sharing how she feels on her personal blog. It is sad to see that scripture is used to try to get a mean spirited point across. The point is we are to love one another and to encourage each other to live lives holy and acceptable to Him. Please be careful to search your our heart before using God's word as a way to justify yourself. The Lord loves you and Bridget both very much, and in the end He alone knows each heart. To stand up for one's beliefs has never been popular. Jesus Himself upset many by what He had to say. Maybe because deep down inside they knew what He was saying was the truth and they were unwilling to recieve His message. Let's be willing to share our hearts without being mean. If we name the name of Christ we should know this.
I like what Laurel said, and I have to say it too, "WE ARE SO LIKE-MINDED"! My goodness girl, I loved this post. It is so frustrating to feel a call to change things in your life and live for God and be called Legalistic. We get it all the time. The last thing we are is legalistic. We just truly LOVE Christ and want to do as His word commands, BECAUSE we love Him, and because He was pretty DARN wise ;)
WE also just came to our own thoughts on Halloween this year. We just started homeschooling a year and a half ago, and we got my husbands vasectomy reversed last year. To say the least, most people think we have gone off the deep end. But God has proven Himself faithful and has received glory, because our home life was a mess before, and God is turning it into a beautiful unfolding story now for all to see! People are in awe of our family, all because of Him. To Him be the Glory forever and ever. Thanks for sharing!
Coolness! I'm not offended at all. Keep living how God wants you to live. And if you ever get on the View...I'll join ya. those ladies need a good conservative slap...poor elizabeth.
Keep typing what you have to say! Some people just can't handle being convicted about their own lives. You are helping God get Christian mothers everywhere thinking about why they do what they do. No one is perfect, but we can certainly learn from one another.
Hi Bridget,
I ran across your blog while visiting Megan's! You girls truly bless me in so many ways! But you are right! If your life whatever that may be in the Lord, is not redeeming Him, than toss it out! The music you listen to, the shows you watch, the books you read, (and that does not toss all secular things out,) but if your life and what you are filling your mind with does not have redeeming value then why are you spending your precious time in it? All our lives must point others to Him. I have asked myself this question throughout my Christian walk. "What if Jesus spent the day with me? Would I change things? " Of course we are not perfect and this is only a ruler of measurement I use for myself, but it is thought provoking!! Live our lives daily as if this is the day of His return! Point others, through our lives, to Jesus! That is our most important quest in life! Any ways, I got carried away... just put it up to the fact that I am a friend of your sweet Mom :) Hope all is well and carry on "My good and faithful servant:! Lol, Lora
